It just occurred to me after posting this, the irony of a bunch of my field ops. Running around and changing dead batteries at solar powered wellsites... to keep the gas on...lol
That is one thing that people in the green energy fail to tell everyone and the government is to stupid to figure out is that for every kilowatt of green power produced you need that same amount of reliable backup power for when it doesn't produce . In most cases natural gas power generation.
So now we have double capacity of what we really need so how can that be cost effective
Not to mention all the so called dirty energy used to create the green energy equipment.
And on and on
Environmentalists will never let the truth or facts get in the way of their arguments. They are largely ignorant of any facts that stand in the way of their environmental utopia. The perfect example of this is when they say that pure electric cars are "zero emission" vehicles. They fail to make the connection between electricity in the cord that plugs into the car to recharge it and the fuel used by the power plant to generate the electricity.
They also ignore the "carbon footprint" of the green energy devices that produce this so called "clean" energy. They turn a blind eye to the hundreds of tons of iron ore, coking coal and diesel fuel necessary to produce a functioning wind power turbine for example. For them the zero point of emissions is when the turbine starts to produce power.
It's time the oil industry vigorously started to expose and state the facts and costs of these "green energy" initiatives. No more political correctness, or politely allowing the enviro-radical crowd to misrepresent what they do and start showing Canadians how important the resource industry is to Canada.
Time to start running tv and full page newspaper ads stating the facts on a continual basis. There's no point in trying to appease the enviro crowd because their aim is to destroy the resource industry. No more Mr nice guy. It's us or them.
