Definitely a tragedy.

I guess that's why everyone beat it into us when I was a kid to never play in the granary or in the truck when it was loaded with seed. Like quicksand it is.

Yes that is the truth, I got it pounded into my head and still do

No one will ever know exactly what happened and is so sad....

Biggest thing was there was hope for the one, which ended in more tragedy

These were family friends also, rip girls and condolences to the botts

One thing I hope is that mabe from this going forward, is that farm safety ( past the info given out at school ect now) like augers ect, that they include grain bins, truck boxes, grain bin dryers ect

Not saying the family wasn't being safe or that the kids didn't know not to be in the grain box, but who knows why they were in there..... Just such a crappy bad deal....

This was a tragedy, anyone who grew up on a farm knows that at 11 - 13 years old you are pretty much self sufficient and trusted to be on your own. Kids will be kids, and it just drives home to keep an eye out. Same as the child who was backed over by a parents vehicle. Absolutely awful, but we all know it is so easy to have happen. There is a gofundme up for the family now, and the community has really come together to help complete harvest. I would encourage those who can donate to do so. If this happened to any of us, money would be the last thing I would want to worry about.
