MACKENZIE — Tragedy near Mackenzie over the weekend.
The local RCMP detachment was called to the report of a missing snowmobiler on Saturday, November 16th.
North District RCMP’s Cpl. Madonna Saunderson could confirm that a body has been located, however, the identity of the individual has yet to be confirmed.
The BC Coroners Service has taken over the investigation.

Sad days in Mackenzie this weekend Our sledding buddy and friend got caught in the wrong place in the wrong time and was takin from us doing what he loves to do riding his snowmobile in the backcountry... We are having a in memory of Mike Griffiths ride next Saturday Nov 23 meeting at the bottom of the morfee mountian road and heading to the first cabin and beyond weather pending. Everyone welcome if you known him or not and just want to show support to the snowmobiling community and family...

Rest easy buddy we all know you will be leading the pack..
