Polaris takes safety very serious. If you hold the throttle wide open for more than 4 seconds, the ECM will initiate a sequence where the exhaust side of the piston scuffs, you start to lose compression, then the engine dies.

hahaha ... Actually had to laugh out loud on that one. :d

Don't polaris sled have a etc switch thats supposed to kill the engine if the throtle sticks just like the quads do. Glad to here he's all right though.

the safety switch is only for if the cable breaks and throttle is stuck wide open lever returns to closed and engine dies. real bugger when they start to f up and kill the sled every time ya stop.
the next post after the qouted one was a gooder though lmao.

ya i cant see the tether being of much benefit in this situation. if he didnt have time to hit the kill switch, he would not have had time to pull the teather and/or jump off. Chances are this happened all within a few seconds very close to the roadway. Say there was in fact a tether involved, and the rider bailed, sled probably would have darted into traffic anyway.

That's besides the point. good thing nobody died.

X2... Im sure its gonna start some kind of debate on whether sled should ride in ditches.... not on here but publically. The media will have a hay day. Personally, I love cruising them, but theres a lot of people that have issues with it. Time will tell....

he got a reckless driving ticket for 402 dollars.

How would one go about hill climbing. I have always owned a Polaris and never experienced such a thing. But this is good.

Who rides ditches anyways?????

Ditch banging is about as useful as a sled that looses compression with the throttle wide open.
Just sayin....

Just happy to hear the drivers of both truck and sled are ok. Obviously this could have had a very different outcome.
