condolences to the family. never will know what went wrong but i've hit a fence myself.it will be a exactly a year this coming up super bowl weekend.got the scar across the face to prove it, anyways sometimes things just happen so fast its hard to explain, just a split second of not payng full attention and havin the throttle pinned..

I hear ya I hit a fence years ago when I was 19 on a buddies sled...in a open stubble field ripping a long in the dark went into a low spot and when the headlights came up again there was a fence right in front of me. I stood up at the last minute and took the top wire across my chest. Yeah I know not the smartest thing didn't know the area, and yeah accidents do happen....Laid over 7 old posts when I hit the fence....My Condolences to this man and to his friends and family back home!...not the way anyone would want to meet a family member at the airport!

That is real shitty news. R.I.P.

Must have been lack of experience. I know 3 other who have hit fences due to learning to ride, how ever they were luckier. My 2nd cousin was up from the Ukraine, she's never driven, I put her on the sled and gave quick and apparently poor directions and she put it into dad's fence, lucky it was so slow nothing happened. A good buddy of mine wanted to get into it, he bounced off a rock in a ditch and end up pegging the post of a barbed wire fence. and probably the luckiest was a buddy from Pincher Creek. his throttle stuck open and he pegged one. ripped his suit pretty good. ch!t happens and happens fast, there may be more to this incident then just "didn't see it", or "inexperienced"
:sorry:

Bin there, done that, got the scar. Fortunately still breathing. The circumstances are irrelevant, it's a tragedy. My condolences as well.:(

We should all remember that not everyone can ride to our own abilities.
Think well ahead of your friend's skills & safety.

Condolences.
