Snowest is better if you ride a Polaris, way more technical info on that site for Polaris. Ski Doo is the dominant brand here, the magazine is not what it used to be though.

I find the sled specific areas are hands down the best. Their search sucks but i use goggle and include snowest in it and boom topics that help me or my friends narrow down issues.

He sent like 8484737384 messages to my inbox about crap I didn't care about. Maybe there was a way to turn that off

That many eh? The guy must like you or know of your notoriety on here....

I'm a paid member, lots of good technical info on there. Christopher can be a bit much sometimes but meh, theres lots of useless banter on here so it goes both ways I guess. I remember how he claimed he knew "inside info" all about the upcoming Yamaha mountain sled and it was going to be revolutionary etc etc. Then the yamacat was released:coffee1:

Don't mind stoping in there and grabbing info but no pay for me...don't see that right to share hard earned info with others and be charged..

That was exactly why I left. I was on that forum since the old, old one and I noticed a few people posting in this thread that were around a long time too. The forum members produced all their own content, then we're going to be charged for it? It's not that $10 is going to break anyone, but it's the principle of the whole thing. It was too bad because I made some lifelong friendships on there and met some great people who would drop everything and come running if help was needed.

Anyway, I appreciate the management of this forum that do all the hard work to let us run our fingers on here. Thank you!

I have had a Snowest account the same amount of time I have had a Snow And Mud account. 46 posts on SnoWest, over 2900 here on this forum. Yeah I am not the posting fool some of you are but I think it says something about the audience that each site attracts. Sure Snowest has its version Maxwell, and maybe even a Tex bit I find it heavily a mid West US and flat lander group that uses it, or at least appear to be mostly that type of user.

SnowandMud is an excellent regional use forum for a lot of sledders and a good amount of the wheeled users here in Alberta and some of the better places like BC and well Sask as too. If it came down to being a pay site, I am not sure I would pay. Even if it was $10 a year. I don't buy magazines, new papers, pay to download movies, look at free porn...very often anyhow, and so on but I do like to see updates from people and read the information that is shared here from people who live and ride in the same areas I do. I too can weed through the BS and I don't believe, or at least I do not see it often that if you poke fun at someone that their internet feelings get sore. On other sites you can't say crap to anyone because you are a jerk and you know nothing and your opinion is stupid along with your stupid life, stupid job, stupid hamster, and so on.

Anyhow I have turned a completely random reply into a meaningless post. I'll keep using this site and am happy its free!
