Snow and Mud

Is it just me or does it seem like the last year or so this site is going down hill.
Someone makes a post or new topic and things go as they should for a couple posts and then the group hit .
By the group I mean it seems to be a certain number of peeps that monitor all the time and can't help them selves.
If it is constructive conversation then fine but always gets derailed .
On other sites it doesn't seem to be so bad as it is on S&M.

Anyone else notice this?

I'm not on any of the other sites so I don't have anything to compare to.
some of the threads do tend to get derailed.

I agree, there does seem to be a lot more threads being hijacked and derailed through what seems to be mostly personal joking back and forth.
This may be inevitable as more people get to know each other on a personal basis through events such as the Jamboree.
I am not saying this is a bad thing, just an observation. Personally when a thread goes sideways I usually quit following it.
