what store was that? Notice an OSET electric trials bike in the back ground... i want one for my son...

on the comments i use a green one from Northern Metalic... half ton rated... opens up so you can put the cable or line in... its cheap 30 bucks... and strong enough for quads but also light!

This was Main Jet Motorsports in Nelson BC. My friend Lee Usher is an OSET dealer. His little sweetie Nina, is the most bad arse little trials bike rider. Started when she was 4! let me know I can get you in touch with Lee

Echo Cycle hooked me up with the whole Warn kit, snatch Block, a couple straps, tree saver and two or three clevis's. I think it was around $80 as a kit in a bag.

is there a rating on that?

I checked warn site they have that pic as 9000 lb which would be huge, also list a new one at 5000 lb looks like for an atv.

was looking at princess auto, they have almost the same with a hook on it, 5000lb rating for $9.99. would need to be modified for easy field use. drill the hole mount for the hook out and put a larger pin in with a hair pin. Or drill the hook mount hole out to accept a clevis pin and use a rated clevis D ring. i'm leaning to the D ring hook up. looks way easier and would not lessen the rating that much. $15 total investment. it was rated at 4 tons. they also have a 2 ton snatch block for $5.99 but not heavy enough, very good possibility of getting hurt when it comes apart.

They have 2 at greggs one was rated for 20000lbs and this oe is rated for 9000lbs...I was at princess auto today as well and saw those ones..but a guy that rides with us bought that one. The warn one has maybe 1/16" from pulley to side of plate the princess auto one had almost 1/4 was enough for the cable to keep jumping off pulley....was a real pain in the ass...that why I opted for this one

I'm thinking the 20,000lb is way to big and to heavy, more for 1 ton trucks not atv. The 9,000lb also. My thoughts. I'm looking to the 6,000lb range, as the winch is only rated to 4500lbs on the ranger

yes they are cheap looking, they also have a little better one, 2ton or so, at $15 that i have my eye on, look alot heavier. may try that one. was looking at a few from mtn' climbing, aluminum, but they are a little costly. guess i'm on the hunt.

picked up the 4 ton snachblock today, alot heavier, very little spce between the pully side, should do the trick picled up a variable adjustment pin, easy open now for cable connecting and operation. $14.99 plus a buck fifty for the pin. should be golden, they have tree straps on sale jan 21, $5.99 for a 6 ft. 10,000lb strap.

I get straps to put on roof for shinglers after I'm done sheeting the roofs I've been using those for tree straps rated for 5000lbs and they're free. Got lots of
Them if you need some got double loops to splice them together if you need to get around a bigger tree

Omg I don't need to hear about your sticky puter keys!!!

ah! you sick bastage, haha. it's all those beer n babes pics.

i got a question, as long as all your cables, straps, and clevis, snatch blocks are rated more than your winch, does the winch pulling force, become the weak link? if i were to double or triple line my line pull, will the winch pull more than 4500lbs, or on a double would it pull 9000lbs. or triple at 13,500lbs. if so i may have to rethink my accesory needs.

upon some thought, yes the winch pulls 4500lb on a single line, on a double hook up, the winch will pull 9000lbs with a 4500llb force. so i guess the weak link then becomes the cable, pullies or straps. i got some thinkin to do now, can't see needing a combined force of 9000LB or more of pulling force on an atv though.

Thats what I was told today...funny you mention that..was told snatch block should be at least double what your winch is rated for?

More accidents happen with bad rigging than anything else. Trick is not to have any wink links
