We have a farm along the iron horse when heading east out of town. I want to get to Brodyk Lake from here. I took the north trail at range road 171 and went until I started coming across the little muskrat lakes, but I dont know where to go from here. If anybody on here rides smokey as well, I would defiantly like to know how to get to it to do some fishing.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Haven't rode around Smoky Lake in a few years, but there are a few locals on here that should be able to help.

I have ridden that way 100's of times. 171 is the correct turn off of the IHT to go north. Just west of the garbage transfer site.
Cross white earth creek and then the immediate county gravel road. You will now be on the Trans Canada trail. go through the bush until it opens up to cross a marsh area and then back in the bush. You will then cross a small pond and then another county road. The next water you cross is the lake. It is not much of a lake at the east end where you cross it.

I don't think you are going far enough north. Your have to cross TWP 602A and travel for about 1.5 miles. The transcanada trail for 1/2 mile after that road intersections looks like you are riding on a road and then returns to a trail in the bush. Shortly after that you go down a hill and are on the lake.

You have to stay on the transcanada trail to get to the lake.

k thanks. I know i wasn't going far enough I couldnt get that far though. Some jackass that does the trail grooming with a tracked tractor left some huge frozen ruts that I couldnt ride through, I just about tipped my sled several times in a quater mile. I just rode a cutline west off the trail and went riding in some meadows near a recreation area.
