Hey all,

Here is a topic that i don't think has been discussed yet. I am wondering what some of you think about some of the new (and old) sledding videos. I know that they are like underwear, everyone has their favorite style or set.

Here is my "Library", and some critiques:

Thunderstruck 2 - All TS films feature Mtn Riding / Hill Climbing, by far my favorite series.:D
Thunderstruck 3 - Jim Phelan is main videographer, and I like his commentary.
Thunderstruck 4 - One fall in here that I thought was unreal,
Thunderstruck 4.5
Thunderstruck 5 - but the fall in here was absolutely incredible. Amazing he survived.:faint:
Heavy Metal 3 - In the top 3 of my favorites. More climbing, and clips of the Big Iron Shootout at Revy.:Cool9:
Heavy Metal 4 - BIS clips: Contendors and Pretendors. Very amusing.:Happy4:
Slednecks 8 - My first SN video, not bad, a lot of ramp jumping and Sno-cross riding.
Slednecks 9 - Just more of the same as SN 8, but a little more disappointing.:blah:
Sled Porn IV - Yukon Powder Hounds carve it up in some awesome areas.:snow:
Alticity - Dedication - A lot of Mtn Riding, but these guys seem to like going down the hill more than climbing the chutes.
Extreme Velocity - Not bad overall.

Let me know what you think, or some of the other videos that you have and like.

Big Iron Shootout 2006 has some insane climbs, and First Accent from 509 films has some great video of riding that most riders do. I'm not real big into the ramp jumps, or huge cornice drops, etc. One of my faves of all time is Vertical Destinations by Steve O; great raw mountian riding vid. Great idea for a thread. :beerchug:

I like the climbing movies with normal joe blows. My uncle, cousin and brother in-law all take video every time we ride. They are in the process of making a video of our group over the last 3 years, looking forward to it. I picked up a camera this year and I am planning on taking some video as well.

I'll post some clips after the ride on the weekend of January 26.

I have Slednecks 8 and Sled Porn IV. My copy of sled Porn is autographed by the guys, and I enjoy both vid's equally.

I PERSONALLY LIKE THE BIG HILL CLIMBS, RATHER THAN RAMP JUMPING ETC.... I LIKE THE HEAVY METAL SERIES AND EXTREME VELOCITY SERIES -WE KNOW SOME OF THE RIDERS IN THIS VID --- RENE ST. ONGE AND HIS YOUNGER BRO(WHO RIDES AS GOOD, OR BETTER). WE'VE SEEN THE TWO OF THEM GO AT IT; JUMPING, RAMPING, CORNICE DROPS, CLIMBING INSANE CHUTES, ETC.... I WAS STARTING TO COLLECT THE JACKSON HOLE WORLD CHAMIONSHIPS, BUT THEY HAVEN'T BEEN OUT FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW. CURTIS, THE MAIN HALF OF SLEDBUNNY RACING, IS VERY GOOD AT MAKING OUR OWN LITTLE VIDEOS, AND WE HAVE SEVERAL PRETTY GOOD VIDS OF MANY OF OUR RIDES AND EXPERIENCES. WE MAY EVEN TRY TO BRING THEM TO "AVERAGE JOES" IN SHERWOOD PARK ON FRIDAY NITE FOR THE SNOWANDMUD.COM 1ST ANNUAL BEER NITE(HEY RON, WE NEED T-SHIRTS FOR THIS). JUST MY 3 CENTS WORTH.;)

I'm a fan of the Thunderstruck Series. I also like "real" video clips that fellow riders take while riding the normal stuff. We did a video for Ride N Hide in McBride that people really liked. It was just a bunch of us playing in powder.
As far as bringing some video to Average Joes...maybe.:Snowmobile1:

Killed my video camera this year so I'm not sure what clips I will get on the next ride but if I do get some worthy of this group I will post them.

Here is one of my favorite clips of a 16 year old young lady crashing. She isw a great rider and made a small mistake. Many of you have already seen this but for those who haven't....Quicktime is required to view.

I agree that Thunderstruck puts out a good video. A good selection of various terrain riding. I would like to have a video where the music isn't killing the sound of the sleds..That is a big part of it for me. I heard there is one out that has no music..just commentary and loud sleds

I for one have lost interest in the Videos with staged Jumping, as well the vids with too much advertising/promotion.

For something refreshing.... try "White Out", just released in December 2006, filmed entirely around Revy, riders doing what we do, just riding the Deep Powder!!!!! Great deep Powder action, climbing, lots of boondocking, some good stucks, and you can still hear the sleds. Panoramic views filmed in HD.

Available from Monasheevideo.com , contact them via e-mail, they can ship it to you.

Danger Zone is the best one out there, some sweet climbs.

The 'real' goods

I agree with Sledbunny!, I try to get as many pics and vids of our group because watching (and re-watching) the good, bad, and ugly is hilarious, and the un-edited narration is also funny, especially if you're watching it in August to warm-up for the next sleddin' season. :D

I like the Thunderstruck videos too (that fall in #5 was brutal and the interview with Brad Story was awesome, hes insane!!! in a good way of course). Got one for Christmas called 2 Stroke cold mountain (I think thats it) Its some amazing riding and of course there are a few great women riders in those ones. I am not much for the ramps but i love all the ones with deep powder and lots of climbs and wipeouts. OH heck i just love them all. I agree with Dobir the music needs to be less so we can hear those most awesome machines! This was a great idea just to see what other vid's are out there that we don't already own!! (laugh)

Arctic Dodge: I Agree With You, And Almost All Above, The Music Is Usually To "grungy" And Too Loud, You Can't Hear The Sleds Rippin'. And I Have The First 2 Of Those Vids As Well, They Are Good.
