Where do you guys buy your backpacks? I'm looking for a good pack with shovel and probe but not airbag. I live over in peopletoba so online preferably as there's a lack of mountain sledding suppliers in the area. Also recommendations on brand etc. Thanks

Look in classifieds on here or kijiji or there's lots of buy/sell groups on Facebook. If you are interested in good used stuff. Otherwise any sled shop in Alberta or BC has backpacks.

I bought this one years ago. Probably around 2006 or 2007.
Still in really great shape. I really like it.
It's big tho. Holds a lot of stuff. So it can become heavy.

I upgraded to a Avy bag for this year. And keeping this one for trails around home.

But I would recommend something like this for flat land riding.

Does it come with shovel and probe or do you buy that separately? Sort of new to buying mountain gear. Around here I just bungee a pos folding shovel I bought at Costco to my tunnel.

HMK makes a nice pack, non avy style. It has the shovel and prob holder built into the pack. Very nice pack and well design.

Another vote for the HMK non avy pack, it's what I use when stubble jumping and ice fishing in the flatlands. Picked mine up at Prairie Recreation in Prince Albert. I dont think they have online shopping but I know you can call in and have it shipped.

Both HMK and BCA shovels fit in the HMK bag, however the HMK shovel handle does not fit in a BCA pack, so I had to buy another shovel. FYI

BCA Throttle 25.jpg

I use this one ...BCA Throttle 25. Separate compartment for shovel & probe, lots of room for other items.

I see the new version includes an outside mount for your shovel
