I'm not aware of any ski resort in either BC or Alberta that allows snowmobiles anywhere near them (except of course the ski patrol sleds). Revelstoke'd be your best bet depending on how their ski resort expansion is going.

Sun peaks in Kamloops has sking, sledding, tubeing and cross country skiing right from the village
That's cool. They should advertise that more, there are alot of families out there where some sled and don't ski and visa versa. Sounds like a great place for that.

Fernie has a ski hill and there is some places to ride sleds that are close.

We've done Fernie. You can park your sleds, on trailer, at the hill and stay at the hill. Various trails are about a 15 minute drive from the ski hill. We have done a half day sled ride, then off to the hill for a half day ski. I had no leg strength left by the end of those days.

I'll throw my $0.02 in here.

Kicking Horse (Golden):

They will not allow a sled anywhere on the ski hill property. I got in trouble for parking in the condo lot with two sleds on the deck. They even get pretty uptight about trailers. Plenty of places to rent sledds intown. Approach to Gorman Lake trails through the golf course at the bottom of the hill. Just remember - if you want to stay at the hill it is not sledder friendly at all. I sold a condo there that I had bought when the hill was first expended for that very reason

Sun Peaks (Kamloops):

Some good trails about 15 minutes from resort. Can't sled in the resort itself. I don't know of any alpine around there. Takes about 1:45hr to Sicamous from there when the roads are good.

Silver Star (Vernon):

Vernon Club's trails are 7 minutes from the resort. You can't access trails from the village on a sled. There are tours that go from there. The previous tour guy - Dave - was great. He would let me park sleds at his place, and would "tour" me in and out from the village when I was there. New guys not so much. Sledding is all Arctic Cat Turbos.

The Vernon trails are fun - and there are a lot of cut-blocks to play on, but no alpine. If you know the way - you can get all the way to hunters range (not groomed - but decent trail). All in about 250kns of trails there - but no gas.

Hunter's Range is 53 minutes from Silver Star. Add 5 minutes if you have to make a McD stop. Great alpine and sub-alpine sledding. Best thing about it is great family hill and avy danger is usually on the low side. Another 20 minutes from there and you are in Sicamous

Big White (Kelowna):

Is only place you can sled from you door that I know of. If you are renting a house - there is a snowmobile trail through the Snow Pines subdivision - that will connect you with the Greystokes Trail system eventually. I don't know for sure - I always get lost and end up playing on a cutblock somewhere. No alpine sledding - lots of sub-alpine trails

Some good info.... That is to bad that Golden Ski Hill is not more sledder friendly. If your staying in town, that would be a good spot.

Sun peaks does have staging areas at the end of the village. When we went up last year skiing with the kids there was sledding right at the end. They share the route with cross country skiers for a little ways. The Kamloops snowmobile club uses it.
