Question about sled skiing , do you guys just wear your ski boots all day? Do the sled running boards not wreck the bottom of them?

Depends on the length of the access. If it is long, and involved I’ll wear sled boots and change to ski when we get there, if it isn’t to bad, IE just trail riding I’ll stick with the ski boots. Haven’t noticed that my boots were getting chewed up. However I have mostly switched to snowboarding as it is so much easier to not have to deal with that. I just ride my board in my sled boots as they are pretty much a soft snowboard boot anyways..

When I first used to ski lots off the sled I mangled the plastic soles of my ski boots every year. Also, depending on your sled it can bend over the traction lugs on your running boards (older sleds). I have rubber soles on my touring boots now but they don’t get a ton of use as I snowboard more off the sled and ski at the ski hill (if I ski at all)

Some days I would leave the parking lot with ski boots on my feet, other days they would be in a bag on the tunnel. Easy to switch at places with a cabin like quartz or boulder

Keep your boot bag right on the tunnel. Sometimes the tunnel heat can keep your boots sort of warm and the plastic sort of soft to get boots on. You can strap on a small 3’x3’ foam roll if you don’t like the balancing act when switching boots in the middle of nowhere

Yeh, wasn’t thinking of regular boots, I’ve always worn touring gear as we quite often would end up skinning a bit to get to something we couldn’t sled right up to. The plastic on regular boots would get shredded, and it must be a real pain to wear them in any kind of technical sled terrain.

Can you guys recommend a ski rack for an skidoo xm? We've started sled access skiing and have been towing skis in on a toboggan (6 people on 3 sleds and one toboggan of gear), but with just two of us that's kind of annoying.

Any of you guys available mid week to do some sled skiing or snowboarding? I work 7on7off so it gets tough to find people who can ride mid week and avoid the weak ends. Have a truck, deck, 2017 axys 163 and AST1&2, just looking to do some laps.

I’ll be sled skiing Revy Feb 5,8 and 9th. Couple decades ski touring and Avi Ops but limited sled experience. Ski partners aren’t sure if they can make it...looking for riding partners for some laps.
