My Summit 2001 motor isn't turning over. I have spark and lots of oil all over the plugs but i think i'm not getting any gas.
Should i clean the carbs first or should i check the gas filter?

I found a post on how to remove and clean the carbs but will i need to get them resynced when i put them on?
Disassembly and Cleaning of a Mikuni Round slide Carburetor

Is there anything else I should try?

First squirt a little gas in both cylinders, then put the plugs back in and try it. If it's starts this will confirm you have a fuel issue. Carb cleaning is always a good idea, especially if it was stored without fuel stabilizer. If it doesn't start you should do a compression test. Low compression will also cause hard starting when spark is present. :)

make have new gas, check fuel filter, take off carbs from boot, then take off drain plug at bottom and drain out old gas, now remove jet and make sure not plugged by looking through. If good then remove main jet and clean with cutting torch tip cleaner. You do not have to take off cable or change neelde settings. So when you reinstall carbs they should be at same settings. Hope that helps
