My buddy has one in his shop, depends on what kind of lift and how far you want to lift them, but he's got one just that lifts the rear part of the sled from the rear bumper, like a jack almost, he does a lot of work for people around town and it makes life a lot easier for changing any suspension/track pieces. I don't have any pics tho.
If you buy one of these make sure the base is soild and not a bolt together buddy brought his bolt together one to the shop and it flexed and had a hard time holding up an XP 146
its got a polaris sticker on it my buddy bought it from a polaris dealer but I have seen them at arctic cat dealers too the I think some else builds them , the base is about 5' and soild thats the ticket to keeping it strong
Beware of the bolt together bases
Oler...check out royal distributors. I got a sled lift from them ad it works great. I think it was around $300 but I can't remember. Had one from princess auto but didn't like it cause it didn't lift the @ss end of the sled gig enough. The royal distributors one does.
OK Guys I'm going to throw this out there for the sled community. With all the help I have gotten from all of you in the short time I have been at M&S it's about time I return the favor in a way that i can. I may not know a pile about sleds yet but I can fabricate!
I have ALL of the equipment and the skills to build these stands.
My first question is, do all sleds fit these or are they all different sizes to accommodate different size sleds. If we have to get into a custom size for each there goes mas production.....
If we are going to make some we might as well look at making them better (If possible). So all you that have them already what would your wish list be if there was something you would like changed on the one you have.
The only request I have is I might need somewhere to park my trailer (secure and must be inside) with my two sleds while the project is going on as I will need the room in my garage.
I'll be honest in saying I do want something out of this. Depending on how many people are interested. If only a few I would like to get one stand out of it free. If we get a lot of people interested then maybe two stands. Haven't crunched any numbers yet so not sure if I'm out of line but lets see if we can make a go of this. Hell I might even make a few extra and see down the road if I can sell them. Word travels fast in the sled community. Maybe there are other project I can help others with!!!
Here is some of the equipment I have
Tube bender. I have 1" and 1.625 full 180 wrap around dies. I also have 2" 90.0 deg dies. Could make some killer ATV bumpers with the 1" set up. I also have the bending software for the tube (not pipe) bender.
I have a surface grinder! I have a small mill and lathe combo unit. 110V welder, Drill press, steel band saw, hydraulic press and some small brake dies (kind of crud but it works for small pieces).
I will offer my services for personal projects as well as to companies that may need some small projects done. I'm an independent and diversified small business. I have done projects for my existing customers I have.
My website.. for any one that wants to see what I'm about....
Almost done building my own. Just need to rig up a pulley system to hoist it. Should be 20lbs or less.... Nice and portable or move around for storage. Pics to come
Working on my sled with a lift is so much better. Everything is up at a nice height, it's easier to swap shocks and makes it really easy to go over the sled before the season begins.
I did a top end rebuild a few months ago and my back was thanking me.
I ordered mine from the states and had to delivered to Montana Shipping Outlet. I think I paid $140 or so. The customs guy seemed to feel sorry for me driving all the way down there for just one item.
No customs or gst.
