Maybe mention what kind of insurance? Liability only, theft, collision? I pay around 800 a year for full coverage for both my sleds, that is 2million liability, fire and theft as well as collision. Will probably drop everything except liability on the 2014 this year.

Full coverage 2 mill. 15 Xm 800 $405yr. 18 g4 $421yr. Allstate
after my trailer and sled got stolen last year I was sure happy that I had good ins.
Can always save a few bucks, but there was a second sled in the trailer that had “cheep”insurance on it and he got stuck with a sh!t payout, couple hundred a year cost him 5k and no accessory coverage.
It was a pain in the a$$ to deal with but in the end the payouts were more than fair and almost full msrp for all accessories and stuff in the trailer. Even gave me 65 percent on mods over and above what they said the sled was worth. Did better than if I sold it myself.

Wouldn't mind hearing what other Albertans are paying for full coverage on newer sleds. I'm paying around 280/yr on each of my newer machines for liability and comprehensive. Collision is another 590 each. Broker said that's the best they can find. Seems pretty high to me. No at fault claims in the past ten years.

Whoa that's steep.

With AMA I am right around $400-$500 per machine with collision.

Used to be around $300-400

But you have to buy an ama membership.

Gonna check out allstate tomorrow.

If you are in Saskatchewan wouldn't you just get your insurance from SGI?
Well interetsing thing in SK is you cant get SGI coverage on your sled besides what the plate covers. Which is just liability insurance of 200k I think. We also need a plate/registration to ride on any groomed trails, a % of the plate/registration fees goes to the grooming programs throughout the province.

To get extra insurance for your sled, (fire, theft, vandalism, collision) you have to go through Oasis/Got Toys. I have heard of Cooperators insuring sleds but cannot confirm this.

My XM was around 800 to insure with collision, and 250 for just fire and theft.
My Sidewinder was 1300 with collision, or 300 for fire and theft.

Neither of those prices include plate/registration.

The other goofy thing about sask is.. when you have to make a claim on your sled, you call oasis/got toys to make the claim, but then you take it to an SGI claims office to have it assessed and decide whether or not it will be wrote off.

Full coverage on my new Polaris Indy $605 ($2 million/comprehensive/collision). Blue Circle has been great to deal with for motorcycles and now this new snow machine. Will probably drop collision in a year or two and cut $200 off the bill.

I just switched mine to Drayden. With the ASA discount my 19 Summit is $593 full coverage and guaranteed replacement value for 1 more year, my 15 Summit with PLPD, F&T no collision is $106. Quotes from other companies have been coming in as high as $1100 just for the 19.

yes
and i still do

I have Allstate also. Very reasonable and great on claims should you need to. Your rate is likely better if you insure all your stuff there which is what I do.

By law in Alberta you need liability coverage and registration just like a car.
If not, you will get fined if pulled over on the trail.
