Just renewed mine through Intact on Tuesday. $411 for all perils and $2M liability for my 2014. Capri was about the same when I got a quote.

I had my turbo Nytro and Apex insured full collision $1000/ year gave them a number $25000 value at the time. There are three levels of coverage basic liability, comprehensive(fire theft), and collision. I just knocked mine down to liability and comprehensive 275/year as the old sled just isn't worth as much now. I am an AMA member and will be inquiring if it is as cheap as these guys are saying.

Three sleds cost me just over 1800.00. The new one has replacement cost for three years I think.... Two for sure.
And I still have to Plate them, which is just over 100.00 each

Not sure what the difference is...but I have my insurance on a 2014 Summit X 163 though AMA. Full coverage with $250 deductable was $394 in 2013. Last year it jumped to $597 for same coverage. AMA said repair costs on the Summits as the main reason for the increase. I have no accidents, claims, tickets, or demerits in 20 years so that should not be a factor.

I also called Aviva and TD insurance and they were higher by $100 and $200 than AMA.

If you are paying $250 you may want to check that you actually have "full" coverage. Or your deductable might be way higher? Although AMA told me a $1000 deductable would only decrease the rate to $458 from $597.

Just went in to AMA for a re-quote. For a 2014 Ski-Doo Summit X 800R with a replacement cost of $13899 here is a breakdown of the AMA quote:

Liability ($1,000,000) - $30
Accident Benefits - $18 (not sure what this is?)
Collision ($250 Deduc) - $344
Comp ($250 Deduc) - $208
SEF 44 (Fam Prot) - $18
Total $618

Also I see with the AMA insurance you need to have Vechile insurance with them to qualify for snowmobile insurance, its an add on.

Buy a AMA membership. I bought the cheapest one one ($70 or something?) and I was able to insure just my sled and quad.

Perfect timing with this thread. I just moved to Alberta from Sask and I need to renew my insurance as well. I just got off the phone with my insurance company. I got quoted $491 a year full coverage which comes with $2,000,000 liability. $500 deductible for crash and $250 deductible for fire, theft. Now I think that isn't to bad since SGI was $780 a year.

Mine looks almost the same, other than a 2014, no lien holder, and my grid level is -15. I was going to take a pic of it but left it at the office.

Mine also doesn't have the clause after section C. Any idea what that clause means?

Edit: I read the policy section C it basically says I have to pay the deductible if I crash it, or its stolen ext.

Anywho, 158$ full coverage and looks like that's a pretty good price.

2210$ a year for 3 new sleds full coverage with TD. So 735 each. Best deal I could find as I have a company vehicle so apparently that makes a big difference if your just adding to your vehicle policy

Here is my quote from AMA today. AMA is saying the only was a policy for that sled would be $158 is if the term was prorated until the till off your regular insurance renewal time. (i.e. for November until January for example). The $546 on mine was for a full year.

If Dan's coverage is for a full year I think he should give us his broker's info. lol

Look I didnt sign up here to argue about what I pay for fawkin insurance. 158 is for the whole year.

If they told me 600$ I would have just got the 50$ liability insurance from ICBC, no fawking way Id pay that much just to insure my sled, as Im not that worried about it. I only pay 700$ a year for my truck!

And yeah mabe you should look for a new agent then, and no you cant have mine cause you're irritating me now....lol

Insurance companies are irritating and basically it seems like they get to set their own rules.

My broker searches extensively every year and the best coverage for the money for toys has been through Intact. Full coverage, including replacement cost, $2M liability, $250 deductible, etc. for two Harley's and two 2015 Summit X 163's is $3,800. (The breakdown is about 55% of that for the sleds and the balance for the bikes, which is weird because the one bike is worth about twice of the sleds combined). Our claims history for any reason are two animal strikes in the 14 years since we moved to Alberta and never more than 2 demerits in any given year.

Good luck with your search.
