Looking to buy a new or used aluminum deck that will fit in a 6.5 foot box. Anyone have one for sale? What are the best brand names out there? My local dealer carries Denali but I have not heard much good or bad about them. Comments........

I have a stf as well, i find the deck is awesome, marathon makes a great deck too. Denali works but if there was poll on the best decks, guess who would have the lowest numbers?

As you probably know a denali is a knockoff of a pre truckboss marathon built in china.

I am eyeing this one up in Cranbrook. Anyone have a Sky-Hi? Price seems a bit steep but the Superclamps are nice to have.

Sky-Hi Aluminum Sled Deck - Cranbrook Snowmobiles Parts, Trailers, Accessories For Sale - Kijiji Cranbrook Canada.

I have a sky-hi, they are a quality deck. That deck brand new is $2695 without superclamps. So not a great deal but not bad. Pull out sides are really nice if you drive a srw I drive a dually so it doesn't really matter to me...

Denali decks are made in china .. probably would work, but I wouldn't buy one

I have a sky-hi deck .. had it up for sale cuz I sold my 1 ton ram thinking i'll end up with a 1/2 ton .. but bought a chev 2500hd so I'm keeping it .. awesome deck, super solid, the only complaint i have is that the ramp is super heavy and after a hard day of riding, setting it up and putting it away is a bit of a chore if you are solo

marathon, high rise, bulldog, full lotus all make quality decks ...

i got lucky and bought mine used. I wouldn't pay new price on a alum deck... that could be a turbo kit for my sled :D

Well I got snaked on the deck I was going to buy. I was outbid as people were bidding more than the asking price for the dang thing. Sooooo I am still in the market. Anyone have one for sale? I would love to get a used one.

I have a Denali . Yes they are Chinese made but the quality is not all that bad. I ,m a cheap fug so no way i was paying twice as much for a deck. The one thing i don,t like is the fact it bolts into the box. It,s not a slide in. No big deal for me i just leave it on.
I know i,ve heard it before DON,T BUY CHINESE LOL . Pretty hard to get away from that these days. Paid $1500 for mine and $100.00 frieght. Each to their own though i,m quite happy with my Denali. Only had it a year but no problems. The wiring is pretty sketchy on it too but i fixed one little issue and it,s been good. Even if i have to rewire it one day no big whoop to me. It,s 1/2 the cost of a Bulldog or Marathon or Lotus.

These things are in high demand .. I had people lined up to buy mine. Even 2 people from the states were going to drive up to get it...

if you see a used one, snipe it right away !!

I bought mine even before I had a truck.. rolled down towing my sled trailer and bought it the moment i saw it !!

I don't have the slide outs on mine, which at first is a pain in the ass to drive with, but I think I prefer it. I hear the slideouts start to bend if you leave sleds on there for a while.

good luck

I run around with a solid deck during the winter, the extra width isn't that bad to deal with. The only person who isn't into it is the ol lady. It's pretty managable all said and done though.

i have a knock off as well,it does the trick.I looked at all the welds and there were fine.I even compared the welds to a Marathon and wasn't a real big difference.Plus i am a welder so i have no problem tig welding or wire feed aluminim if i had to add strength or cracked welds..I rather have one that went over the wheel weels, just to have a wider stance ,makes me feel safer when the deck is open with 2 sleds that high...I did find though the Marathon ramp is alot ligher than the one have but for $1500 less i can handle that extra weight...

I was wondering if anyone actually has one of those truckbox decks, the only reason I like it is that they claim it keeps the elements out of the box as it would be nice to use it as a box cover and deck. Ive read a lot of posts people concerned about damage to the truck box rails and such. I figure they've been out for a while now, anyone actually use it?

I've got a buddy that ran one all last year, works well but you should install the legs that are now available for them. The decks do cause stress on the box walls if you put lots of miles on oilfield or logging roads.

ya i heard this as well. guy at work says his brothers box cracked at the tail lights on his 2010 chev 3500. said it was because of the box not being able to flex with the new marathon box rail deck? anyone else hear of this? looking to upgrade my marathon deck to the new box rail next year. LOVE my marathon. best deck out there imo. its been thru hell and back. i have a cabin nestled in the mountains, 50kms of off road hell, 3 river crossings etc. its been pounded. 3 years and not a lick of trouble. plus the ramps dont get much better! here it is on my ram:

i cant imagine life without my deck. i am from Ontario, never seen a sled deck in all my life. even raced snow cross back home, rode all my life, not a one deck. everyone used trailers. i never had much money so it was just the back of the truck for me. had a little wooden ramp made in the yard to get it in when the snow banks werent high enough. move out west nearly 5 yrs now...they are everywhere. first use of one...hooked. just make sense. from ease of mtn riding access, maintenance, able to haul more, ease of loading, better mileage...it just makes sense.

i will never not have one!:D
