^^^ that's what the ford box needs...pretty slick!
That was in a 17 f-150 with a 6.5 box. I had an 18 f-150 with a 5.5 box that would have been similar but I'd have to either trim the rails that clamp to bed rails or buy new. I now have a 19 with a 6.5 box with deck mounted again now. I think I remember in front of the wheel well in the 5.5 box had a slope so fixed deck legs would be an issue. Is that what your referring to?

I have a marathon deck and front legs locations are along front of bed. But they clamp to the bed rails for stability as well. View attachment 223402

I’d keep and eye on your box. Put my truck boss deck on my Cummins 3500 1 ton and the box cracked within 6 months. It made the box to rigid with the rails clamped to it. So when the box shook on rough roads the thinner new aged flimsy steal couldn’t flex and she cracked. That was coming from a body guy who’s very experienced.

Sounds like maybe the legs didn't have enough preload possibly? This is second truck deck was on, and knock on wood, so far no issues. Was told that with aluminum I need something under legs so they dont punch through.

I can assure you the legs were installed correctly. The deck set up just makes the box to rigid and is cracked under the plastic for the bed rail cover. I sold the truck boss, sold my trailer and bought a decent condition mline that leaves the bed to do what it needs to do.

Did not mean to offend. Just spitballing with you. My deck being just a standard deck probably has alot to do with it. Extending those sides on yours probably puts more stress on the bed rails.

I carried 1800 to 2200 lb round bales on my deck,,, sometime 3 at a time with out any issues...

Driving threw frozen creeks and ditches was a bit tricky,,, ha...

The old rig liked to lean a bit...

My deck was rated for 3000 lbs,,, X's by 7 worked out to 21.000 lbs max breaking load,,, so 15.000 safe load capacity for the 3/4 ton...

The 3 heaviest round bales topped out at 6600 to 7000 lbs,,, that's well under the 15.000 lb mark... Ha

The old lumber wagon gets to pull 40.000 lbs of Kows to market tomorrow,,, the Kows enjoy the drive...

Hold on Girls,,, Lamb-stur hasn't had his morning coffee yet... lol

All good homie. Just letting guys know truck boss decks make the newer thinner truck beds to rigid. I loved the deck itself. Only chitty things were that Edmonton’s location closed (and the prices shot up around here) and that there isn’t different option to fix this issue

Took Kows to market...

They didnt want to ride on sled deck of 1/2 ton,,, very little room on top for all 10... Ha

Nothing worse than spilling kows on QE-2 at 167 kpr,,, ha...

Ended up cheating,,, we used the spongy 3/4 ton to zig zag our way to the auction barns,,, the old kows were riding loose in the trailer,,, ha... lots of foot shuffling to stay up right back there...

Slow turns and easy on the brakes to prevent a wreck...

I could of used my 1/2 ton,,, but it would of been like pushing a wet noodle on the hwy,,, Ha...

Go hard and go fast is where the bigger trucks rock,,, lumber wagon days are gooder...

I much prefer pulling a nice enclosed trailer. Sleds stay clean, lots of room for extra things, and just a lot better overall. We just got back from another 6 days of amazing riding. We slept in the trailer, had coolers of food, a generator, bbq, hot plate, lights, and more. A tidy tank full of gas in the pickup box, and it was just so comfortable. I used to have a deck on an F350 and hated it.
