Sled deck on 1/2 ton?

Can I post this here, even if it ain't a halfer?

I wound love to haul three on the deck. Would really cut down on the fuel bill, especially driving 800+k to the hills. Plus it's a much nicer drive bout hauling the big trailer.

But I can't imagine loading that middle sled is a whole lot of fun?

Personally I've found that 2 sleds on a deck is basically the same fuel mileage as towing a 4 or 5 place enclosed.

Really? I typically see around 21.5L/100 average pulling a 24x8.5, and 17L/100 with two sleds on the deck. That's hand calculated over the entire trip.

Doesn't sound like you're driving the right truck. Currently at 14L/100km decked up from Edmonton to blue river, towing 4 place is 18-19L/100km.

Duramax or nothing.

That's pretty impressive. I've heard good things about the fuel economy on the newer Duramax. I'm curious to see how they last in the long run though. This trucks got another 200k in her before I'm looking at something new. So another three seasons or so.

My brothers truck. 05 duramax with hypertech programmer, otherwise stock. Not the new style.

Personally, I'm in the market for a 04-07 Duramax, I believe there is nothing better. Not interested in the newer crap.

If anyone is looking for a 2011 half ton Silverado Z71 hit me up, 144K, very well kept, can sell with sled deck if wanted.

My 15 Cummins is right about where he is with the 18’s , about 2-2.5 higher with my 20’s and bfg ko2’s. Usually hang around 16 with 2 on the deck.

I know with my Ram 3500 I have around 1500lbs of room left in my GVWR when I have two sleds, gear, fully fueled, and both of us in the truck. So another 1000lbs for another guy, sled, set of gear, and more fuel and a 3500 should still have plenty of space left.

2500 is getting close with two though.
