Why stop now, transfer the door sticker lol.

Are you guys saving money buying 3/4 tons? Or what's the deal here?

Dealerships in town here don't even order in 3/4 tons.

Lol if it was that easy. Get busted with that and yeeesh

I looked into getting the ratings changed and you have to go through an engineering firm and a bunch of paperwork and supply it to your insurance and blah blah blah hoops and hurdles and thousands later.

WHO IN THE HELL STARTED THIS THREAD AGAIN. I thought we already solved all these issues years ago

Seems this thread has evolved to show many who drive 2500 (3/4 ton) diesels are fully capable of being over LEGAL gvw If the Dot ever decided to weigh and compare to sticker.

My 3500 was cheaper than the equally equipped 2500. There were additional rebates for a 3500.

Why would someone get a 2500 and spend a bunch of money to handle the extra weight? Lol. Oh right it rides better right?

Anyways. This talk is way off topic since both 2500 and 3500 are not even the same class trucks as a F150.

But have at it. Modify your 2500's to whatever extent makes you happy and load your F150's up as much as you can. Whatever it takes to get you to the good stuff.

Guy could really do some serious damage to his logic and common sense department reading this thread. They should give the half tons a G & G rating IMO. Groceries & Golf clubs.
Gotta wonder sometimes, yup gonna buy a new truck, Yup I'm a sledder, yup I'm gonna put on a 400 lb deck and haul 2 600 lb sleds on $hitty roads, yup I'm gonna throw in 8 cans of gas ,200 lbs of gear, 50 lbs of tire chains, 30 lb jackall, 400 lbs of manliness , 4 flats of beer (only a 2 day outing) , and a bunch of sammiches............ And I ride a 174 track, my buddy has a 174 sidewinder............... So hmmmmmmmm,

I think the best choice , using logic and common sense I mentioned earlier , would be a half ton, yup, and of course I'll get the short box cause I want the sled to hang over the deck from just under the drivers, and if I see the back of the track hitting the pavement, I might think of a deck extension, maybe, or I may just double up on the front super clamp. :(

but it'll ride way nicer when I'm heading downtown to get my pedicure and Brazilian done, and get the eggs and milk the wife sent me for. Uh huh !!!!

People who buy used trucks and don't have $70,000+ to burn on a new one and order it the way they want. Don't know about your area but around me there's not much for one tons that I would give any kind of money for. They're all work trucks and beat to crap.

Unless you live in Resolute Bay that point is pretty much mute.

Just like you came on here to post that you can go online and search the entire province, the adjacent province or the country for that matter for used trucks. I drove from Calgary to Edmonton, St Albert, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat and so on just to look at used trucks that had my desired options. So just because my area didn't have a specific truck didn't mean I had to settle. I liked the small town dealers over the larger area dealers as well.

Sure your situation may be different. But anyhow modifying a truck on your own doesn't make it anymore legal which is now why this thread has continued for so long.

Can a F150 handle a deck and sleds? Sure can. If it is equipped properly with the HD package and whatever options it needs it can even have a payload rated higher than some 2500's.

But it will continue lol.

Sask is a different beast then Alberta. My dads been looking for a truck for like 3-4 years 2500hd or 3500hd. None are close to being worth any kind of money like they're asking. Doesn't feel like having a bare bones truck either. I've been looking for a dually for the past 2 years and trucks 10+ years old are still 23 grand for high mileage and the dually fenders road rashed down to the fibre.

Opinions are like buttholes, everyone's got one, but I'd rather see trucks maintained and outfitted like mine, pulling their max gvwr, then a ill-maintained 3500 pulling less.

Its not worth buying a 3/4 ton. They are more to insure and are not much more to buy.

I don't know about sk, ab, or Bc but in mb if your over 4545 kg gvw you need to get an annual safety inspection. Most 3/4 tons are under that.

Got cash from it, wasn't happy about the price even after arbitration, and they wouldn't let me touch my truck or remove any aftermarket either. So I bought it back. Going to try and get some more money that way. Still haven't found a different truck. Want to try find 06/07 classic Duramax dually

Well Glen, you know how it is these days; nobody back reads anymore and it is all about me, me, me!

A well hashed subject for sure. Sure glad I got my F350 and know that whatever toys I haul, I am legal.
