So I'm looking for a deck for my 6.5ft box. I really like the idea of an 8ft deck but hate the look of it. Is there anything stopping me from getting a 7'er and slipping a sheet of plywood under the track and screwing it down so that my sled doesn't hang so far out?? Then i could just take the sheet off when my sleds not on it. Is there anything that Im missing, because you would think there would be more with the same idea.
Thanks!

Forget the plywood it's useless. Would just be for apearance. Try and find a deck that has a slip on extension to 8ft. Or get an 8ft deck and get over it like I did hahahaha. Doesn't look that bad

long box truck and 8 foot deck are the way to go. But I would go the 8 foot deck and get over the look. it will be worth it.

Look at cross trax decks. I have one for my 09 gmc regular (6'6") box and have an extension for it. Carry my 163" up there no problem.

Sorry. That last part was just a saying I saw. Put it in profile and ended up on my post. Still new to this stuff. Lol

I was in Marathon a while ago, and they were talking about a flip over extension, for the 6 1/2' box . I haven't talked to them lately to see if they've got it done yet and what the price point will be. But after the Mrs. knocked herself out last winter, I don't think she'll argue about this purchase ( I even have lights on the corner extremities) 1 minutes she's walking around the back of the truck to jump in, the next thing she's not getting in the truck, I thought she forgot something in the house and went back in. Man was she pissed at me when she came to all by herself out on the drive pad. I can laugh about it now...as long as she doesn't know what I'm laughing at. :)

I've got a short Crosstrax and extension. Works awesome. Short fir quads long for sleds.Leave it in year round.

Crosstrax 88-89" deck on a short box truck with removable extension as stated above. Great option, High quality built in Canada. Another good option is a Marlon deck approx same size but the extension can flip forward and stay bolted on. Or un bolt and take it off.
Marlons made over seas and still a pretty good product. Pm me for pricing on either. If you want used hit kijiji!

That's some classy sh!t right there. I think I'm still a little hung over from both those deals.

I run an 8' and got over the look. I don't mind it. then its all there and no worries about extensions and what not. 163 sits nice on the 8'.
