Interesting to see what comes of this. If they can pin it on someone it won't replace possesions, memories and livelihoods lost, but I sure would hate to be that guy!

I hope they find who did this..................at least would be a bit of closure for all those poor families who lost everything............they would be able to have someone to direct their anger towards !!!! Which they deserve..................I have a GF who lives there and luckily didn't lose her home, but she will never be the same cause of the experiance !!!

bull fugging chit! they have no clue why it started so this is what they come up with. lets be serious for a minute. after the fire it poured rain for 3 or 4 weeks straight! u think theres much "evidence" left??? this really pisses me off! the people of slave were just finally coming to terms and getting back to there life again and come up with this ch!t! my family and friends are soooo angry and upset! they should have just let it go! people are ok with the idea it was lightning or a downed powerline or a cigarette or a hot spark off an atv....

you go out and tell them 6 months down the road that somebody deliberatley started a fire to burn down the town!!!!! who is ever gonna wanna move back there or stay there and tought it out?

PS for those of you that dont know i was born and raised in slave til i was 30! so im allowed an opinion.

Thanks for voicing your opinion, BUT!--
There is a thing called forensics. It is a science that determines, (in this such case) that there is evidence that it was not a natural cause. If they found accelerants, or other reasons to determine that it was not a natural fire, there should well Damb be an investigation! It is the second largest insurance claim disaster in the history of Canada. It affects mine and your insurance rates. Hope they catch the bastards!
Plus I am sure the suspects (if any are caught) didn't expect the fires to travel 10 km and set the town ablaze.

If I was the arsonist I think I would be getting the hell out of dodge in a heart beat, if they could figure out that the Barriere fire in central BC was arson then it would not be a stretch for the SL fire. It is really sad to think that anyone would have deliberately started that fire.
