just looking around classifieds on mutiple sites. 2013 RMK are going for anywhere from 8500-10,500 and not to many of them moving. 2013 summit x models are anywhere from 12,000+ and people are getting it. HMMM. that extra little purchase price doesnt look so bad now?

its just an observation no pot stiring intended. im just noticing that the price difference lost at purchase time is gained back at selling time. better resale it seems
I sold mine for 12500 2013 xm. 2014. 13.500 Can't believe I got that but no complaints here. Part of the reason is skidoo diddnt build enough sleds last year. My guess is they could have made 2000 more and still sold them.

Ya good point.

I wonder if this shows that no one actually does research before buying a new sled. I mean they maybe go online and do the online snow check and it comes out to 15,500 (just a guess, I never did it) then see a used one for 12500 and think they are saving 3k.

When really they could go find a dealer willing to sell brand new for 13500.

Don't forget that most of the sleds that sold for 12500 have 2k in add-ons so they are really still loosing 3k per year (on 1000 miles of riding, $3/mile). THAT'S A F@CK TON NO MATTER WHAT SLED YOUR ON.

Poo's ain't that much cheaper than a Doo.
My neighbor paid only $700 less for his '12 154 Poo Pro than what I snow checked my '13 Doo for and then sold it for $9500ish and it only had 400 miles on it. And it took almost 2 months in Jan/Feb of this year to do it.
By comparison buddy sold his '10 Doo with 2500km last month in a week for $8200.
I believe the shaft issues and engine problems Poo has been having over the past 3-4 years seems to be hurting their image. Guys not on the forums that I talk to that are still riding older iron even say they heard this and that about Poo problems. It's too bad cuz Poo really does make a decent sled if you get a good one.

Look at the fit and finish of the xm vs the rest and now that the etec has proven itself it makes sense why the resale is higher than the rest and although initial purchase is higher, if the resale price is less of an overall loss as is with the xm it fuels the demand that much more. Tried all three myself this year and have been pretty open to whichever was the best fit and for all around mountain riding the xm is the most fun for me and will be in my garage either this or next fall. I don't think it's so much stirring the pot as it is owner pride, there's a lot of doo laid on here but you still see more gay green accenting and decals plastered all over the world by arctic cat guys than anything haha
