The ARC is a uncoupler/coupler. Big difference.

Adjusting the limiter can only change the degree of how much the track drops out.

As Lund said - most of the advancements you see on sleds these days came from somewhere else, which isn't bad....but just don't think that all the manufacturers have think tanks for these things and that "your" brand (whichever one it is) is somehow the only one who is revolutionary. As an example: the Fast Blade from the late 90's incorporated many of these ideas that are now on several manufacturers platforms later on. Some of the features of the Blade from almost 17 yrs ago....long before any of the big 4 were doing this stuff....

......SLA dual A-arm front suspension (pretty well all trailing arms at the time); an engine that was reverse mounted in the chassis (hmmm...sound familiar....), with carbs facing forward; a forward and higher seating position (......that put the "rider forward"......); a comp-link stabilizer system; a driveline system that eliminated the jackshaft and chaincase (uhhhhh); a driveshaft-mounted brake caliper; and a sub-400-pound claimed dry weight.
the Karpik boys were tight with 'doo as well. they were a part of a bunch of their proto testing as well as development, the Rev chassis was a result of Fast and the rec division research. the Blade was originally developed to run Doo power, the falling out resulted in the Karpiks switching to polaris engines for the blade . AD boivin and Camoplast as well. those companies wouldn't be where they are/were without their Quebec involvement with Bombardier.

Anyone know how the SP T3 is 7 lbs heavier than the X T3? Both have 3" tracks with same lengths. The only difference from what I can see is the handlebars & riser, non rebuild-able shocks and graphics. Curious how they get that weight loss, any extra heat exchangers?

Well I guess I was right about the t3, looks like it will be heavier with the idler wheels and full tunnel cooler.

I haven't had Time to read the specs are you saying they increased the weight and put it back to how it was before because people are too stupid to put their scratchers down? Awesome

Comparing the pictures on the spec sheets it looks as though the SP T3 gets idlers at least over the X T3.

So if you're an idiot who can't use scratchers the T3 SP is right for you.

The X has always been lighter than the Sp and Everest models. It used to be a selling feature.

The biggest weight was The rebuildable shocks have been lighter vs the steel body non rebuildable which has been that way for awhile.

Then now as mentioned the idlers vs scratchers

I'm a do guy thou and thou, but this release is a huge disappointment. Polaris gets a new motor and chassis. We get some weak snowboard model and bng with quick limiter adjustment. See lots of ppl flocking back to the poo after this. I think they were playing catch up to begin with but I think they have definitely evened the field if not squeaked out front at this point. Guess I'll have to wait to see the other 2 doin March as it's not the no Brainer snow check I had hoped

Was the same in 15 for polaris when all they did was add some color and shocks. I think ski doo has enough sled to carry them through a few years. Always room for improvement i guess but its not a huge deal they didnt make any drastic changes.

Why would people flock to Polaris?

Polaris did nothing in the mountain segment from 14 to 15. Doo does quite a bit more for 16 offering a 3" across the board for their X sleds and even their in season models.

If you are going to ride a Polaris, you are going to do so because you like how the sled handles and performs for your needs and riding. Saying you are going to ride a brand of sled because the other guys didn't do anything special for a year is ridiculous.

There can't be something new and great every year. There never has been either. Ride a Doo because you like how it works for you. Ride a Poo because of the same reasons.

I prob will still ride a doo cause I agree they were already pretty awesome, just though I would see something that would make me want a brand new one over this year. That might have come out wrong but I bet the ratio of Polaris in the mountains will come up over the doo domination we have seem for the last 2. They did make some significant improvements this year, hate on em all you want, they also have a very good platform.

Why the need for big changes?? Doo has a sled that's easy to ride and has the best motor in the 800 class... Polaris has a lot to prove as they haven't had a solid 800 motor for years in their mountain sleds. I don't think the pro is a solid chassis either as they've had issues with overstructures breaking/cracking. Time will tell on the axys rmk. Not here to bash but simply stating that ski-doo came out with a game changer in the t3 package last season with a solid motor and an easy to ride chassis.

Until I see actual numbers which have been proven to be accurate, I do not believe one has a higher number of sleds on the hills than the other. I will say I saw more T3's last winter everywhere. Everyone from a brand new rider, to someone from Manitoba to veteran riders were on T3's.

And who am I hating on? No one.

Doo's numbers I bet were awesome this last year for sales. Polaris's will likely be great this coming year. Who knows what Yammy and Cat are up to.

I am glad a Doo is a Doo, a Poo a Poo, a Cat a Cat and so on. It would be horrible if they were all the same.

I kind of like how the different brands are becoming more polarized in what they offer. They are all quite different. If your after big reliable power there's yammi, solid 2 stroke with big power and good powdercoating there's cat, fun chassis great engine reliability and factory 3" theres doo, and for beginners and females there is the lightwieght poo. Its win win for everyone.

Also thought doo would make a few more changes since Polaris is supposed to have big changes coming. Didn't buy the big bore or turbo talk, I'd love to see it but just couldn't buy into the rumors. Another year and couldn't even get that lighter can in there. More then bold new graphics sure would have been nice.

I know I would for SURE be the first one to test pilot a new engine for polaris.... Flock away brother. Why are you still comparing the two? Wait until they come out with a 154-163 or 173 16 wide 3" then we can put them on level playing feilds first. and "NOT EVERYONE WANTS A 3" "............INSTA LIFT BRO! Then you can herd your flock.
