What is the best way to set up the suspension on the skid???? Do you want the front soft and the rear stiff or visa versa?
This much I know the more it squats the more you trench. I run 2 up springs in mine to keep the transfer to a minimum. Climbs like nobodys business.
Are you saying that if the suspension is soft it trenches more?
Absolutely.
So should both the front and back shock be as stiff as possible for climbing?
Is there a disadvantage to having it to stiff?
Freak.......you might be on to something. Good call.:d
Your thought process is right on there. It has been backed up by some of the best like Daryl Baker and Ken Dohei. You can't steer a sled with the ski's 3 ft in the air on the hill or on the track. And your wedge has a sweet attack angle from the pictures I've seen but..............you gotta let this wedge versus turbo Yammie thing go. It ain't happening and I don't even ride Yammies.
You are right just as some mod sleds don't run either. It is not all about hp. If the sled won't behave and hook up on the hill it won't go. All I know is that over 25 years of seeing them all there is nothing that will run with a totally dialed in Yammie on boost. It is a sight to behold on a hill. That's why we take em into the trees. Lol. :d
I'm thinking snopro has brought out a good side in lhf.....a whole page and it was intelligent!
No bashing, no putting him down, no cheezy come backs, just straight forward dialogue.....
Snopro, you're the man.....
There will be some 2 stroke twin on the hill in the very near future that will make a totally dialed in Yammie look like a good running 800.
I accept your accolades with the greatest of honor from such a revered S&M stalwart such as your self there Ferniesnow......... I dunno, he seemed to be making sense this time so I went with it.
ah....thanks to yourself for the fine words!
Now, I'm thinking with all the BS flying around, it there a curve ball somewhere in the future???

There are some good running Turbo 2 strokers out there and there will be more. Will they ever make a dialed in Turbo Yammie look like a stock 800, not a chance. I also do not believe they will have the engine reliability of the Yammie either. I put 6000 km on Tnytro this year, last year 8000km , no engine faliure! I have several friends who have put 4-7 engines in their 2 strokers in one season! RS
