When I use the Parts Fiche that is on the ski-doo website, the parts there are the original parts that were put on the machines, but there are no indications of any updated or replacement parts. If I look at a parts fiche from a place like snowcity.com, it shows the updated parts, and then the original parts that it replaces in red in brackets. The dealers must have a version of the updated list, as they always seem to know right away what the replacement number is. It would be nice to see the updated numbers on the ski-doo site, so I don't have to go online fishing for updated part numbers :( Anybody else notice this?

I just bought some parts from dealercostparts.com (same as cyclepartsnation). Saved enough on a few items that I picked up the 10" riser for close to the same total as I would have paid at the stealership here without the riser.

Here are the online prices (US Dollars):
Part Number Descripton Price Qty Total
420941430 M6 x 20 Socket Head Screw 1.57 4 6.28
415129409 Updated Belt Deflector 24.78 1 24.78
512060547 Throttle Cable 58.82 1 58.82
860200271 10" Riser 49.19 1 49.19
139.07
Shipping 32.49
Grand Total 171.56

Here are the local prices:
Part Number Descripton Price Qty Total
420941430 M6 x 20 Socket Head Screw 1.99 4 7.96
415129409 Updated Belt Deflector 40.99 1 40.99
512060547 Throttle Cable 97.49 1 97.49
860200271 10" Riser 69.99 1 69.99
216.43

The parts are coming USPS/Canada Post, and he gave me a tracking number. Much better than the 10% for 1 year most parts counters give you these days.

As long as you can wait a couple of days, this looks to be the best way to buy parts.... and no fuel/time spent going to the dealer just to be told that they don't have it in stock. A couple of big ticket items like belts or body panels, and it is huge savings. Seems like dealercostparts.com has a little better pricing than cyclepartsnation.com, even though they are the same company. Hmmmm
