Hey Silverstar, we will just have to go see for ourselves how it is in here. Somebody has to have been in all ready, if not, its a fun one! Been my fav place for years.

Locals usually wait until after xmas due to the alders and avy ally. After this last cold snap and recent snow last night and in the forecast, I would suggest wait wait wait.

Duly Noted. Ya I've had my fair share of grief getting through the alders up to the waterfall. And yes Avy ally is not to be taken lightly.

Probably a little skinny getting through there yet. I ride with guys who ride this area more than anywhere else and they haven't even mentioned the mines yet. Sh*t should rip out pretty quick with this new snow. Early January trip for us I would say.

If you lost something black on the trail out of Silvermines send me a PM with a description and we can arrange to get it back to you.

Where is access to this ride. Up the silent pass road and then back to the sw at the big junction in the road at like 17?

Yes but you should be warned it's not a place for amateurs its a big dangerous place with big Avalanche terrain there is almost no trees and good visibility is a must IMG_0047.jpg IMG_0046.JPG

Normally I know the answer, but it has been a troubled year. Anyone know how far the road is open yet? Is it at least to the 24km?

They seem to be chiseling away at it with the plow. Km 21 last weekend, warm weather alone should make km 24 possible by now. Some greater than normal avy activity on the way in.
