72cm storm total so far since Sunday adjacent to Silent. Another 55cm forecasted thru Sat morning. Absolute nukage!

The "ABSOLUTE NUKAGE!" part of that comment describes this weekend for sure... LOL the best two descriptive words I have read in a while to describe snow

Anybody going up Silent tomorrow? I've got a two place trailer. Just wondering how far up the road we'll get. Also, is there any logging going on up that way this year?

So road is only plowed to 17km. Logging going on just south of there. I parked at 22km and the only other group up there managed to get to 28km but with lifts and bigger tires. My avalanche and trailer wouldn't have made it. Rained until about noon. Snow was super heavy and wet. Took us almost 4 hours to break trail. Just about made it to the waterfall. Got too tired to go much further. Trail was freezing up on the way out. Gonna be a rough ride back in tomorrow.

Thanks for the update. Bit of a slow drive today. Looking for a not too challenging day tomorrow so I don't think I'll be out to help.
Sorry, but thanks for putting in the work. I guess I'll check out Quartz.

Went up silent on Thursday. We parked at km 28. Close to getting stuck. Put 90 km on sleds, pushing 2-3 ft of fresh, no base underneath. Didn't get to waterfall. Came back on empty, glad we didn't try. Was a nice day, we wanted to go to Revy but hwy closed.

Went up again yesterday. Helped some guys push the trail up to the base of the waterfall. Still too many rocks to head up the waterfall. Some guys were trying to push the trail up the right side to the lake but I don't think they made it before dark. Can drive up to around km 28 now that the road has frozen up.

Wondering if anyone headed into Silent pass this weekend. We were thinking about heading out on Monday for a ride.

Rode silent today, way better than Quartz, lots of snow to be found. Road is pretty icing going up, take your time, especially coming down. Seen some guys almost go over the bank, maybe a foot or less... Some guys were chaining up trucks and trailers.

When we went up which was kind of late there was only 30 sleds.

No logging traffic thanks god, that's a sketchy road to be seeing a logging truck come down at you.

Anybody ever drop off the far side of the pass and hook up with the logging roads in the Duncan valley? Easy, hard, steep, not bad, needs lots of snow or not much? Looks like there might be a burn or blowdown area, could be a minefield... Got some wide eyes for ski touring objectives down that way

Yes I have done it... Bring your 'A' game if your going to make an attempt, or atleast for the way I know. There are Some short steep sections with ledges. Sorta a maze and you have to know which ledge to drop or follow and drop. Big snow at the bottom if you make it!

edit, should note when you tag up with the logging road and get to the valley bottom be aware that you are almost at glacier park. Can only head north about 10km till you hit it.

30cm yesterday. 50-60cm in the last few days. Road is sketch. One roll over, and lots of units not making it up the first corner with trailers. Solid ice under the snow. No issues with good winter tires.
