Never been out to silent pass. Thinking about hitting it in the am. 2 beginner/intermediate riders! Is it worth the trip? We don't have a radio!

Silent never dissappoints if you can see. No cabin though...and its far. The trail up the waterfall to access it can be intimidaring for a young beginner...not really 'hard' just intimidating. Skill level wise...Silent is for everybody.

Get a radio or follow someone with one. Many logging and service vehicles combined with icy blind corners.

Update for today, -30C when we unloaded this morning. Seemed like 80% of the people that were up there were from Saskatchewan, maybe Notley has made the Albertans soft! The snow was decent, but there were lots of sleds. So it's a bit tracked out now and could use a reload. Lots of open creeks. If you get in to the trees watch for stumps there are lots hiding, as well as hidden rocks on windswept hills.

So your saying it's early December riding conditions still? Crap I was hoping we'd gotten past that stage.
How's the road in and how's the trail up to the waterfall?

Can go up waterfall it's tracked. Road in is slick but we went in yesterday slow and steady with a 30ft trailer and it was fine.

Yup, not much base, but enough to have a ton of fun if you're careful. I like to stick to the trees, so I had no problem finding fresh snow. As Doo2015 said, the road is a little slick, there were a few people putting chains on their pick-ups but you'll be fine if you take it slow and steady. Grab a radio from GSR for some peace of mind though.
