Ill buy the cord and charge a 40 dollar use fee and u cover the shipping to your place and back. no more getting raped.

I think your missing the point. The $700 is for the silber programming. Not for plugging it in. You could buy the cord and reflash for $40 but you would still be on the hook for the 500usd for each one. Why should Silber give away their tuning for free just because you have the cord? It's just like buying an EFI live Flashscan or Autocal from a tuner, good for one vin number and then you pay for every one after that.

You get that 850 dialed in venom?
Yes sir dialed in 5lbs @ 8000rpm! Ran the 7lb spring on the last day but need to add just a bit more clutch weight. I went up 2.5grams but still hitting 8100rpm. Was right at the end of the day so didnt bother to play with it after that.
Running the p85 with a mtntk blow hole and both clutches are just warm to the touch. Love it so far!

If you pay for the kit the tuning should be free. It's part of the support of running the turbo.... no tuning turbo no work.. if they are charging a fee to get the latest file that's highway robbery. did i get the point?
the efi live we use for our diesels if free tuning after you paid for the initial tunes, you should never have to pay to have a file that they found works better. That would mean they gave you what you didn't pay for the first time.

Put a team on for the secondary and watch the MPH's take off

Not sure I buy that. I have a doo dr floating QRS with DJ QR11 helix and Dalton spring(220/330) in it and a team secondary with a 60/62 helix and black purple spring(160/240). mind you, i am running a TRA primary, not a P-85. Running 5 lbs of boost on a redline kit and I prefer both the back shift and the up shift of the QRS. the team almost seemed lazy in comparison. that was only one day of testing and my speedo is ****ed, but seat of pants dyno says that on that day, the QRS performed better. more testing to be done, but may have a team secondary and jackshaft that may be available.

My findings as well.
Ive done a couple of team secondaries with the tra. I found them a pain to tune and the qrs just seemed to work better. The team is heavier in mass than the qrs, I still do not know why doo cannot float that qrs from the factory.

I don’t want to derail this thread. An this only goes for Polaris, but is anyone noticing that the factory Polaris riders are not whooping up there silber kit. These new 850’s not handling boost that well?

You dont have to buy it if you dont want to. BUT im running a p-85 and a team secondary with real light springs and weights with a real soft belt from a skidoo 600 all of 5lbs and it gives my silber 850 a solid spanking all day long. dont believe it take it for a rip. not sure if its one part of the combo or all of them working together. but as far as im concerned its the best set up.

It's got a slobbery bottom end stock.
Probably a nightmare to tune for boost.

i'll bring both secondaries out this weekend again and do some more testing...love the 2 minute swap. hopefully my gauge comes back to life and can read the km/hr. if you ever ride golden let me know, would love to compare. Cheers

Thats how it should be from factory, it actually pisses me off that skidoo is the only one who doesn't have a removable secondary. Like come on.... Must get a good deal on the ancient skid and bs secondary set up or something.

Who are all the options in Alberta for programming? Do you just need the cable or do you have to purchase the program too?
I received a quote from a certain dealer North of Edmonton, was not to pleasant to chat to the phone about kits and then got quoted well north of $700 just for them to install silbers programming, I just about fell off my chair!
700$ beans to plug into my sled! crazy! Maybe I am missing something?

Did you purchase the kit new or did you buy it used? If purchased new you don’t have to pay to have your Ecu flashed or pay for an updated map if there is one. I’ve been a Silber dealer since 2011 and that’s how it has always worked for me. If you buy a used kit from someone then there is a charge for the new owner to have the ecu flashed. If you don’t believe me check with “fredw” I contacted him as soon as I had my reflash station and flashed his ecu for him for free. I’m in Sask and flashed his ecu in the A&W parking in the Hat lot while my buddy was picking up a sled he had purchased. When Fred asked me what I wanted I told him nothing since it’s part of the cost of a new kit. He was very appreciative that I called him and offered to flash his ecu and he gave me some cash for my time. Thanks again Fred, now get that kit installed.

does anyone know if silber has a new ECU reflash for this season? I'm almost certain that I saw a post from them stating that they did. can't remember where but it as a while ago. Anyways tried reaching out to them a couple times but no reply. would take my ecu to the sled show if they did.

I put 1800km on my silber turbo last year ran flawless after I got the clutching dialed in... looks like they may have a clutch weights update as well I deal with Cory at silber always answers his phone or texts back... FYI

So how many people running their 850's 7lbs vs 5lbs? Any issues at 7? The reason I ask is I talked with another shop today and was told that the silber kits do not add any more fuel at 7lbs than running at 5, just more air. Fuel system pretty much tapped out at 5. proven with a data logger i was told. I haven't heard of any issues/failures other that mostly clutching issues.
I ran mine a 5 lbs last year and briefly tried 7 but was over revving so didnt push it too long. I'm running the p85 and couldn't load the dalton adjustable weights enough for 7lbs. I'll either have to buy heavier base weights or a new spring with a heaver finish rate.
My biggest complaint of the silber kit is fitment of the silicone intake tube to the stock intake inlet. Took my time and trimmed both ends of the tube for proper clearances but still doesn't fit right. So this year I'm doing the BD intake mod. I didnt realize how long of a runner that the stock intake was until I took off the fiber sound barrier...holy. it has to pull air a long way.
