So im getting the turbo itch pretty bad and think I might have to scratch it sooner rather than later. Just curious if anyone has any experience with the silber set up on the etec? How do they run? Fit and finish? Any kind of problems? How is the new dobeck box working? Should be the same one as the new areochargers I believe. I like that I can get one for a pretty reasonable price and being able to install myself is a big bonus for me over the tss low boost. Any useful input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Just remember TSS is in canda so support will be much better if you happen to have issues, and I am sure the added cost of the TSS kit will be worth every penny in the long run.

In Canada but a 12 hour drive for me. I would prefer to support a Canadian company for sure but not for almost twice the price.

Have to agree! No such thing as a GOOD cheap turbo! Just a CHEAP turbo!! Spend the money now or spend double later keeping the CHEAP one going! And save the frustration of many bad trips!
I hate to say this, but if price is a big issue, a turbo set-up may not be for you....they are costly to get quality parts and if anything goes wrong it big bucks to repair.

anybody actually see one of these silbers run or ride one? i realize that the boost-it box is better than the dobeck, but other than that the kits are very similar. they run the exact same turbo..

It doesn't look like you're having any luck getting reviews on the Silber set up…:frusty:

I would give the guys at Turbo Performance aka Turboboyz a call ask for Josh or Bryce. They have been doing Rotax turbos since the first XP's came out, maybe even longer. I know when I bought my kit for my Etec they had options from mild to wild.....I went wild! I am guessing their starting kit would be priced fairly reasonable. As far as I know they are the only ones to have the injectors located after the throttle body. They have their own billet intake boots which hold the reeds and the injectors are positioned in the top of the boot. I went with a external Tial wastegate and Turbosmart boost tee to adjust boost, this added some cost to my kit. They are running the Attitude fuel box. Mine runs great, the low end throttle response is very stock like.

Had a buddy with a Silber on a Pro. Always issues. Maybe the same turbo itself but it's not the turbo that is the problem. It's the cheap parts they use for the rest of the kit. Would never run consistent. Had lots of failed parts on the kit. No help from Silver to get it going right. He ended up basically changeing every part out until he was running a boost it kit. After three years of frustration and ruined trips and over double the cost of original kit in repairs as well as replacing with a turbo system that actually works he finally has a good kit in the boost it. I know your question was for an E-tec. But I am sure that a company whose original kit was for a Pro and they had nothing but nightmares that the e-tec system can't be much better.

Have a buddy that did a silber on his 2014 pro and pretty much the same story. Never running right and lost a weekend last Friday after giving up on dicking around with it and going home.

The last silber kit I seen was on a Pro that was burnt down into a heap of scrap metal in the middle of the boulder parking lot. The guy said he was having trouble getting it to run right lol

500 mi on my 14 Freeride with an aerocharger. No issues. Pull and go. Very little lag and clutching is almost spot on. Buddy has a silber kit. Not even comparable in how the run. Would not recommend silber from what I have seen. IMHO.

I ride with a buddy with an XM aerocharger and it's less than impressive to say the least, do your research and talk to people that run them. My advice get a reputable builder that has built many turbos and has experienced a lot of the set up issues and avoid builders that are just starting out or have only done a few set ups, it will save you time and money in the end. Good luck with your choice.
