Headed there on Saturday for a week. Wondering about debris in the lake, is it boatable or am I just bringing a water oranament?

was on the north end of the Shuswap this past weekend. Crap all over the place and huge!. Ride slow and do lots of floating around will be ok but to open it up is looking for trouble. Took some friends of ours from Sicamous to the north end several hrs. On the other hand, OK lake and Kal Lake are much better.

The bay in Seymour is full of big debris but past Albas to the narrows was decent. Water levels are dropping and with no big rains in sight the rivers wont be puking any more junk out. Just pay attention and probably stay off the water as dusk aproaches and you will be fine. There was a huge cedar we found that was bobbing straight up and down with the top 15' sticking straight out of the water with all the branches still on it. it looks pretty funny. The biggest issue was stay away from the shoreline so you dont wake someones house because the lake is real high.

Mara lake has lots daily moving through into the marina and then the Shuswap. Pretty risky but there are people out we are not one of them!

SO what I am hearing is dont burn the carbon out from the winter time, stay away from the shore as you might flood a basement...lol..

Other than that its floaty time with the feet in the water and havin fun on the sun deck with the wife!!

Ya for sure. On Mara I know there is a speed limit no wake at all because of the high water and lake front properties are still flooding along with the logs and causing more damage. I am not sure about the Shuswap lake though.

Howdy all....well all I can say is wholly smash is there alot of water everywhere here....zero beach period...
Lakes have debris scattered all over the place, worst seems to be the closer you are to the narrows. Caught a twig yesterday and had to make a pit stop to get it out.

we hauled several pieces to shore yesterday in attemps to do our "bc buddies" a favor and help out a little bit.

Gotta go, as we have to go on a water run as there is no drinkable water in the area....quite amazing what mother nature can do to the land in a couple days....lol...

Plus 30 here today and yesterday...time to loose the redneck alberta tan....

Salmon Arm end not to bad debris is mainly concentrated in a flow but there are strays. Spoted 4 hull wreckers between Salmon Arm and Captian's Marina. Doing anything at dusk is real risky visability for debris drops huge.

Yeah Mara and the channel seem to have got it alot worse than the Shuswap side foresure.
