as to your earlier question, to determine when you harvest you'll need a small handheld lighted magnifier, hold it to a bud or leaf and look at the trichomes. they are tiny "stems" with a little ball on the top.
when around 10% of the little heads start turning cloudy is what I went by to determine when to stop feeding. I'd flush and cut them down usually about a week to 10 days after that, and almost all the trichs are cloudy to just a tinge of yellowing. if you let them grow too long the trichomes turn yellowish/brown, the yield does slightly increase but potency changes and turns it into sleepy or couch weed. some people like that, but I was never a fan.
