Hey Momma, the pictures of the kids are great but I love the picture of the hounds!

What are their names and breeds?

Thanks again:d

thank you!! The one's in that Picture are Lola.. she's a Black Lab, Ted, he's a cougar hound/Border Collie and Koda he's 10 months old and is a Timberwolf/Arctic Wolf/Malamute. I'll see if I can find another pic of the other 2. 421052_2931557084765_1136142237_32433515_694151149_n.jpg

Thanks Momma!

I was thinking Ted looked a little like a Border Collie... Koda looks like he could eat a person out of a house and home.

Awesome dogs!

He's got such an appetite yup.. but Ted.. the anorexic looking one has such a high metabolism he eats 3 times a day and still looks like a tooth pick!

So I thought I would post some pics of our new furbaby. After my Golden Retriever passed, I couldn't bring myself to replace him, but our other Bassett-Lab cross was very lonely and the house seemed so quiet. I scoured the SPCA ads and Kijiji, not certain what I was looking for, but once I saw her, I just knew!! She arrived almost a month ago and is settling beautifully. At 8 months old she is an absolutely magnificent and amazing creature- very much a human trapped in a canine carcass ;) Her name is Zoey and she is certainly the sweetest little puppy ever, and fits into our odd menagerie of animals and people very well :)

They are just iPhone pics... But they will do until I can get my big camera out.

Well... She is 100 lbs with about 30-40 to go :) But on the inside, she thinks she is a kitten. Zoey has nooooo clue how big she is and she is the suckiest baby I have ever seen. It is astounding to see how emotionally dependent and vulnerable she is ... The truth is that our 7 pound Yorkie rules the roost in this house!

I know exactly what your talking about. This brute appears as though he may have been a relative. He was part of our family for 9 years till we lost him last fall. You are right, he is a lap dog in his own mind, the most graceful clumsy dufus on the face of the earth. He loved nothing more than the puppy pile, a real cuddler by heart and a personality like no other. We still havent been able to replace him, he left to big of a hole in our hearts, it will take a while yet.

"Graceful clumsy dufus"!! Hahaha! I love it :) truer words have never been spoken and I think only a Dane owner can truly understand the truth of this sentiment !!

I am sorry to hear of your loss. They call the Great Danes the 'heartbreak breed' for a reason... They have relatively short lives and in that time they totally capture your heart and hold it hostage. It's only been three weeks and I am totally twitterpated with Zoey: I can't imagine having one for 9 years. Which is why I swore I wasn't getting another dog- the heartbreak of the last was awful! And now I would consider getting another ;) Craaaazy ...

Just curious, but where in BC do you live? I think we may be "neighbors" !!

Yeah, I believe we are hanging around the same general area, I live in the country, about a 20 minute drive outside Prince George.

Haha - I should have read your siggy. I would have been able to figure it out. They are beautiful - the Bay mare from that angle does resemble a Morgan. The last horse I had was a very handsome liver chestnut Morgan gelding. Very nice horse, I had several others prior to him, a couple Arabians, one which is bred to a Thoroughbred to produce a very stunning, and very athletic anglo filly who is now a very successful show jumper, and I had an old American Saddlebred, tallest horse I've ever owned and being 5 feet tall he was no fun to mount - so I trained him to squat so I could get on him easier haha. I sure do miss having horses, if I ever get back on an acreage I will be sure to get more!
