Im planning on doing the pelican case for my "tunnel" bag next year. I like to carry a shovel back there as well as the backpack. Does anyone have any good tricks or setups of how to mount the shovel to the pelican case. Was either going to get that new doo linq mount or the North Technologies one to mount the pelican to. Wont always be needing to bring fuel with me but the only bag I have now takes up 2 sets of linq brackets so that bag and a jerry can wont work on the 2022 sled with short tunnel.

The red strap is only there cuz the linq latch blew apart on me - was a baseplate off of a sh*t skidoo bag under the pelican - gettin a new alum baseplate made up soon - carriage bolt thru the lid with a nut and washer on it so it's like a stud to park it on - drilled a hole in the shovel blade - wing nut holds it on - PVC for the handle heated with a hot air gun to manipulate shape because I really like this BCA shovel same one on my backpack - goes into hoe mode and the handle is sleek for the goondocking and tree bashing - same thing for mounting carriage bolts thru the inside of the PVC then thru the lid - gonna put acorn nuts on the inside to save any kinda whoopin damage to the lunch etc

This was my last setup. Aluminum frame for the BRP linq brackets that my case is bolted to, with a couple feet underneath it with rubber pads to make sure it sits flat and stable on the tunnel and so it only uses one set of mounts. The aluminum frame has a loop and a sleeve to lock the handle in place. Shovel blade is currently just held on by a couple cheezy thumb screws that I made that bolt into a threaded backing plate that's pop riveted to the inside of the case lid. Currently working on a spring loaded clip that will use a cotter pin on the inside of the lid so it's flush on top and faster to remove / secure.
Check out Nanuk Cases from Hardcases.ca. They have a better latch system than pelican, lifetime warranty and are made in Canada. This case is a Nanuk 915.

On a side note, I have beat the snot out of this case, stood on it, bounced it off trees, used it in -36 weather and it's only scratched. AAA rating on the Nanuk Cases from me!

This is how I mounted a shovel to my box. I installed t tracks on the top. Then I made a bracket to hold the shovel. And another bracket for a small rubber mallet to knock of ice in the tunn
