heres a thought tex, why not find a used 600 or 800 engine, your young lad is getting to that age to want to ride, you could also use it as a backup sled? get rid of the 07 800r motor it is no friggin good. i'd go with the 600 motor myself and ya will have a very reliable sled for not a whole pile of money.

been reading some info on rktec, he is saying the new etec motors are running way hot, not using fuel to cool the lower end. may be something to watch for? says ya need gas flow around lower end bearings for cooling(true). no gas =no oil big ohoh i'm thinking. friggin trying to meet emissions, i'm thinking i'll wait and see what kind of break downs start showing up.

Buy a polaris and be done with it! Besides unless you buy the 4 stroke kitty turbo the reliblity just wont be there. Other wise fix the frankinsled!

not sure what you'd get selling as is. $2000? you may still be ahead ($5000) - ($3000) for motor - time labour etc($1500) leaves no money on table. ya may be better to just sell sled or intakll a used motor.

this is the way to go

part it out for sure or sell complete as is, should get 2-3K no problem dont fix it thats a waste of time I see 07 revs for $5000 maybe $5500 with 2500kms so why wqould anyone want yours for $5k?

get a freeride DO NOT by a 2 stroke turbo if you dont like the word "wrenching" like stated in your first post. trust me been there done that,, haha very similar actualy I folded my rev and sold it to sumitric then had to try a M8 T ohh what a pain.... now dont get me wrong if ya got time money and time they do hull azz when running right....

now I have 08XP with all the updates and Im just trying to fight off a freeride but I want one....

good luck

Lol thanks al. I drove my wife crazy cause I had no idea what to do. I would have loved the boosted kitty and it sounded like the guy had the boondock box all set and highest yet ever see was 1200 going up the trail at revy . But I ended up finding a 2010 summit x snowcheck with 500 miles for a good deal. As long as it still has the last 2 years warranty left. I don't even have the engine done yet and have my sled sold. Other wise I was going to get a drop and roll ect done to it. I'm looking forward to if something major done I don't have to touch it.

Another option would be to pick up a 2009 M1000 (approx. $9,000)that some of the dealers still have, put a few hundred bucks into it and you have a sled with lots of power. I did this last year and love this sled a lot, 1000 miles last year and no issues. Then keep your sled as a spare.
