That is the first time I have heard the words "07 REV" and "trusty" used in the same sentence! I ride a REV and love it, the money to upgrade would not be worth it to me. My humble opinion......

A boosted sled would be a lot of fun but if you are tired of fixing stuff a turbo'd sled is not the answer.

shheeet tex i thought it was an o4 rev with a 07 800 clapped out motor you lyin to us? fix the 04 ya still have an old sled = ? put a new short block in $3000 -what your short block is worth, + time etc, =still a crappy ol rev. spend the money get a xp etec, ya know ya want it bad. yer just makin excuses not to buy it, lame at that. the m8 ya had better dicker harder, as ya know it won't last for ya.

with the new sled you will lose money from the day ya sign the papers, and lose more as you drive it. the old iron ya have already lost all the money, although you now have to dump more in. the 07 was a pos, 08 a little better and the new motors much better.

i say keep the old crapper and thus i can be out front . hehe

I like the idea of New! That implies you are not getting other peeps headaches, have warranty and can doo your own mods.

BTW, a Doo would be nice for the DooTalk ride.....just saying

Here's the deal Tex. A 07 Rev is worth next to nothing with 7000 km on it with a running engine and is salvage with a blown engine. Why spend $3000 or more to fix a sled that has not great resale value. No one will give you the $3000 extra if you decide to sell it. You are better to put the 3g in your pocket, sell the chassis to someone like Dusty or through Kijiji and put all your money towards the new, sale priced PTEK with warranty. Thats my 2 cents. Good luck!:D:beer::beer::beer:

P.S. The boosted cat is fun but only fun if you like to wrench.

not sure what you'd get selling as is. $2000? you may still be ahead ($5000) - ($3000) for motor - time labour etc($1500) leaves no money on table. ya may be better to just sell sled or intakll a used motor.
