Should I get a home alarm?

Well my wife wants one in the new house, but I think they're a waste of money. I don't know anyone who's ever been protected by one, and it seems like half the people that have them dont bother to alarm them anyways.

What you think?

worked awesome for keeping the teenagers in the house at night.....

my dogs are scarier than my alarm.... we use it when we take the dogs...

In the city I would want one for sure......

doesn't cost much and check with your insurance company, it should lower your rates.... I think with us the $25 a month monitoring fee is offset by a $15 a month insurance break so we pay $10 month for the alarm...

-Helps out on Insurance cost 7% or so
-Peace of mind when out of house, that not everthing will be gone
-Makes a F__ken thief go to the next home without a Alarm maybe
-Good for kids when on all doors can be made to Beep at alarm on open and close...
garage door open is a real good thing too when Beeps (can not see it).

hahaha I wont hold it against you, I was thinking it would cost a lot more than that, never really thought about the discount on home insurance either.

Yeah we're going to build in Ft Sask, finally a bigger garage!!

Mother/father in law have one with a key fob remote on/off. if I was getting one I would set it up this way. Just hit the remote when you pull up, no punching in pin #.

Alarm systems definitely help, and so do good locks like Medeco. I have a 4 button wireless remote for my garage, Button I arms it, Button II disarms it, Button III Opens and closes the overhead, and Button IV turns my exterior lights on/off. Helps being in the industry as I have my technicians install all the bells and whistles at my place.

I have an installer who lives in Gibbons. If you ever want something decent, let me know.

If the Mrs. wants one that should be reason enough to install one so she feels safe.......... We have a system in our home on the acreage and it's well worth it. All the doors including the garage are on sensors and so are all the windows.

Hmmmmm. I had no idea you had an alarm.... Neets must dissarm it prior to my "twilight visits"..........

I have always had an alarm system installed. I have been broken into and if I didn't have the alarm I would have been totally cleaned out. They only had time to get the tv. Well worth the money!!
