Thinking about jumping ship from a 07 yamaha grizz 700 to a new 2012 850 polaris. How is the polaris in the water? What about reliability? I know they ride great and have great power.

What about the electonics/connections in the water? How big can I go with tires before axles are snapping?

Very good machine. I have an 11 850 28 inch zillas 2 inch lift. It rocks in the mud but needs a rad relocate badly. I have not had any issues with no snorkel yet. But i generally dont ride through big water, just big mud. With the exception of the overheating it is an excelelnt machine with great power. It smokes everything that i have come up against. That being said i have never rode with a can am xmr. It will destroy a 700 mud pro, beats renegade 800's in the mud, and kicks ass on any brute, grizz, suzuki, or honda that is not extensively modifed. I love mine for the price would really recommend one. Make sure you put some tires on it though.

I have a 2011 as well and was able to fit 30" Zillas all around without a lift. I have read that stock axles can be weak on these machines, but I truly beleive this all depends on how heavy of a thumb you have in sticky situations. I have had no problems yet. The Zillas with a QSC clutch kit makes this machine a great mud toy. No rad relocate or snorkel here, but other than that all around good power for the dollar.

What is the reliabilty like on these machines when riden hard, whats been breaking?
If you lift it or run big mud tires: axles. Otherwise...solid.

I broke 1 axle. My fault had it pinned in a deep hole and caught a tree

Well, i finally bought a 2012 Polaris 850. I need to get some tires, snorkel kit, clutch kit. Where is the best place to buy tires? Whats a good snorkel kit? Is mud industries any good? I thinking maybe 28 laws 2 for tires.

Both mud industries and snorkel your atv are good snorkel kits. They are both the exact same. I would go with the snorkel your atv kit. They are better to deal with from my experience. We stock there kits at work. For clutch kit I would go with QSC.
