Shop flooring

Looking for some suggestions on what to use on the floor of my shop that will keep the skegs from tearing it up, the plywood floor I have now isn't going to cut it. I'm trying to stay away from using the plastic glides if at all possible.

First of all, I used to take off the carbide and use mild steel skews. I could run those into the shop and not do any real damage. Being in a warmer climate now, I need the carbide left on due to the rock/gravel on our access roads.

To circumvent the damage I have gone to dollies and the skegs don't touch the floor. Saying that, the dollies that I have only have the small wheels and I am considering going to large wheels because the small ones grab on just about anything on the floor (ice chunks, expansion joints, small gravel, etc.). The problems we sledder have?? Good luck and I hope you find something that works for you.

Thanks ferniesnow! I'm also using the ski/track dollies right now and have the same issue as you. Having something on the floor where I can just drive them in and not worry about the floor would be great and hopefully I can get a lead on something that works.

Those are what we use, can drive around driveway and in/out of shop. No damage to anything and takes very little effort to put them on and pick ski up off floor.

A little tough to move the sled sideways. If you have a designated spot that you can get to straight away, they would be the cat's meow.

I've seen trailers done with them too. There a few different brands out there as well as similar products desigined for around pools, etc.

Sweet! Supposedly there is a dealer up here so I sent them an email, would be great if I could get about 4 sheets of that stuff barring it doesn't cost 2 arms and 2 legs.

Would be nice to wrap that about 3-4" up the sides to ensure that no water seeps between the wall and side of the sheet.

It’s just an extra ply of plastic laminated to about 7/8 plywood.

I think a Better option on the walls is FRP panels and seal the bottom joint with a flexible systemic rubber caulking.
