I need a 12 wide by 14 high door installed. Wondering if anyone wants to share how much theirs cost and where you got it? Doing a reality check on our local installer and want to ensure that I'm not getting ripped off. BTW, they want 4K for that door with a row of windows, electric opener and R16.

a steel craft 10 x 16 factory coloured r12 or 16... not %100 sure c/w row of windows... door delivered from edmonton to white court around $1500 plus opener $300 to $500 depending on belt or chain drive or If you go to a commercial size opener... your looking at a big door. install probably around $500 to $700 depending on if they install bumpers at end of track. possibly at $2700 so far.

are they supplying door? chances are they put 25 to 30 points on top... around $400. at 14' tall that 2 extra panels over the 10' tall I ordered lets say $250 per panel so $500. were at $3600 now. not trying to say go for the 4k... just a break down. I project manage for a homebuilder and see these numbers quite often. maybe it helps ya out.

Not sure if this helps or not because the doors aren't that similar to what you want but I just had a shop built with a 12 wide x 10 high, and a 10 wide x 8 high r12 doors with no windows. the big door was $1250, the smaller one was $875. Install for both was $475 with no openers.

Thanks for the replies, looks like their pricing is competitive. Huge price difference between smaller doors and this one, the heavier running gear alone is pricey.

6x6'8" roll up door for a shed was $685 last week at HH. Not sure if that helps as this is pretty small.

In the oh door world they put that size in the "commercial" door category and everybody charges more when you tag it " "commercial". mine was 18w 11.5 h r16 with a side mount opener, the local guys wanted nearly 1k for the install alone!
me and a buddy who has done a few did it in 4 hrs.

I bought 2 doors for my shop. Steelcraft R16, 12W x 14H, with pusher springs, chain operators, and all hardware and weather stripping. Barcol in Edmonton wanted about $2200 each and most guys were around the same price. No windows, though. I did the install myself. Most guys that I called wanted about that price around Edmonton and wanted between $400-600 install per door.

Now that is what I was looking for! The store I'm dealing with already ordered my door so I'm committed now.

In all fairness by the time I drive ten hours (return) to get a door from Edmonton to my house (~$250 Gas), set it up (~4 hrs time, probably closer to 8 with teas and swearing), custom colour (not sure if this was an adder), add windows ($350) and add an electric opener ($350) I feel that $3874 w/gst is competitive for GP.
