Last season for some reason I started banging up my shins something fierce on the running board. I have no idea what I was doing differently. I use klim snowpants and I have the kneepad things in them but they don't go down very far obviously.

Does anyone ride with shin protection? Or maybe you have the full knee/shin protection?

If so what brand do you use. Would be nice to know which ones stay put and arent sliding around all the time.

I wear knee/shin pads made by Shift MX

I find them comfortable and they don't slide around on me. Braces would be better though.

I wear motocross shin pads under my Klim pants. They are not too bulky and I find them very comfortable.

I bought the huge articulated armored motocross knee/shin guards and used them a bit. But they add so much bulk over the knee cap that it really hinders me stepping over my seat doing a wrong foot forward sled carve. So the last couple years I've switched to just using soccer shin pads. I don't hook them around my foot, and instead run them higher around my calf so they start at the top of the boot and cover the front of my knee. I'm liking this solution.

for myself the best is full knee braces, I use the alpinestars ones. they do add some bulk to the knee but really help when the seat is pushing on the inside of the knee to keep it straight and strong. As well they go far enough down the shin to the top of my fxr boots the protect it all. the only down side is they do add a little more bulk to the knee and it does take a day to get used to. would never go back again after getting over the initial weirdness.

Picked up some BCA shin protectors at the sled show a few years ago, I think they are great.

I use these acerbis x-strong. No complaints, comfortable, probably would slide down over a day of riding if it wasn't for boots, but we all wear them so no issues sliding down. And they offer decent support brace wise. Only con would be that if your banging your knees lots it'll accelerate the deterioration of your snow pants.
