even new out of the box clutch alignment & belt defection is off , if you not wrecking belts , it must be good, the shift asist will not disturb alignment or defection maybe the spring rate by a blond hair lol . when clutching ownly make 1 change at a TIME I cant' stress that enough:cool:

it will drop 200 rpm off and i just took mine out as you had to run a real stiff spring to make it work, after 2 yrs not worth it imo, pulled it out and better consistant rpm on the big hills, better track speed and top speed with it out:beer:

All your doing is replacing the plastic washer with the shift assist! I just did mine and did not have to compensate any shims, other than what my dealer left out when they worked on my sled! I tried it out and it does aid in the up/back shift. Quicker response time imo! You will notice a bit of forward movement when you let off the throttle! Kinda like a 4 stroke Yammi but not as severe feeling! It did cause my buddy to go over the FSR edge one ride we had, it caught him off guard while rounded a corner. While your at it why not drop in the ROCK rollers good upgrade as they are tough rollers.

I tried the shift assist, and eventually took it out, was not happy, and made the clutching weird.

Hey there, so far so good, I like the shift assist, has good shifting. What did you not like about yours? I have only field tested mine so far, as I'm waiting to hit the MTN's soon...

I think a person is better off spending the money on an rk tek sec clutch kit. I`ve sold alot of them and havn`t had one person not love it yet. I run it on my own sled and love it. It puts a torsional preload on the sec clutch and the backshifting is amazing. I think the best quote from a cust about it was he said it made it feel like an indy car on the trail and in the hills it was leaps and bounds better than the stock set-up. It keeps things right in the sweet spot all the time with instant back shifting.

I put the shift assist and rock rollers in my M8 and it seems to be smoother and back shift nicer as well. My 2cents :Holidayslol:

I'm interested, however I need to get this setup out and tested before I consider the upgrade. I'm totally into the clutching aspect as it really makes or breaks your riding experience. I like speed and torque :d

Do you have a trip to mcbride planned for this winter? If so come and see me and i'll let you try the one out that i have on my M1000 for a day. So you can see how it works.

I've run for the last year, now it always feels smooth and no hang ups when coming down big hills. Before it would feel like it would hang up on back shift and not as smooth when taking off. I think it worth it.

I'm not a fan of the shift assist. It takes away rpm and makes the WOT rpm's inconsistant. With the lower angled helix's like the straight 36 is not as noticable. But with a 40 finish the rpm's are all over the place. And you loose MPH because it's trying to backshift all the time.

SPIN DRIFT ROCKS> we just spent the weekend in mcbride and those guys are always willing chat and lend you their advice. Amazing service!

X2 - RKT torsional is leaps and bounds better then the stock setup - I've one on my M1000, and my wife's M8. For the record, Glen is good to deal with as well...

you guys that installed the shift assist did you remove the black washers? I believe you are suppose to leave them in and add the assist on top. You should gain some spring pressure and a bit of rpm.
