No is my impression, Renshaw isn't accessible atm, mudslides took out the access road. Could be fixed by now, not 100%.

The renshaw can take more sleds than bolder and frisbee combined, and it has a 12x20 shack ?? It has the biggest alpine riding area that makes all other places look small by comparison . ........................................... On second thought.. maybe keep it small and hopefully people will stop going there .

You are comparing apples to oranges here.

Boulder gets 10x the people, thus a bigger cabin. They get twice the annual snowfall, and you can actually ride many places while socked in. Renshaw is tough to navigate in socked in conditions. Boulder staging area is 5 minutes away, not 1/2 hour away. The trail in is less than half the distance, if not a third...

And you are wondering why Renshaw doesn't have a large cabin?

Sure, the terrain is vast and huge, I've been there many times but a lot of it is also closed.

There you go newb... Intelligent enough for you?

Kind of agree with go green here .......renshaw doesn't need anything as extravagant as bolder mtn cabin and yes renshaw is a bigger area but i dont think it has nearly as many visitors, how ever the cabin is CRAMPED every time im up at renshaw i believe it is to small. Also i never got the propane heating system i think the wood stoves are much more efficient to run just chop up a bunch of dead fall with a chain saw and leave an axe the riders will take care of the rest.

I AM IN NO WAY SAYING THE MCBRIDE SNOWMOBILE CLUB IS DOING A BAD JOB. They do a excellent job with the resources they have and im sure if they had a big pile of money dropped on there lap a new cabin would be built or the old one expanded.

The sport is growing tho perhaps the club should start raising money now and in 5 years there would be a bigger better cabin there.

Also could a member please explain to me the propane heater vs. the wood stove ........always thought it was stupid especially for drying gear.

I understood there is a wishlist and expanding the cabin is one of the future possibilities, where it is right now i'm not sure. There are no closed areas at Renshaw though. N & S Dore are the caribou closures.

Maybe we could make a big cabin in the parking lot and than no one (else) will even go up the trail:rolleyes:

If I ever "need" the cabin for safety its perfect! Thx to all that maintain it. I can't wait for SNOW:i_need_snow:

The only problem with the renshaw cabin I see, is the cabin cowboys who ignore the no smoking sign and fill it full of smoke.
