You should not need a controller for a light weight muffler i have a intake and l/w muffler and no controller. I have a 3 inch riser with no problems i think i have read you can go with a 4 inch and not extend any cables. The riser can be bought at any dealer but look around as there are alot of options like angled ones or straight. Hope this helps. I found on my M1K that the secondary clutch was lacking to say the least there are alot of options out there but RKTek seams good along with Cutlers they both offer adjustable kits that improve performance and belt life alot. Other than that weight loss helps that machine out too.

i have a 2007 m1000 and i have a lightweight mbrp can and a 3 inch riser i wouldnt go with any more than 3 inches on the riser or you will be asking for trouble i also run a 3 inch air horn on the intake i dont run a controller and am told wont have to untill i go with aftermarket pipe and "y" pipe wich will be the next upgrade. Any arctic cat dealer will have your bar riser for aproximately $45.00

I run an '08 M1000 and i have a 4" riser on it with no issue at all alls you have to do is re-route the wires that go from your bars down to the wiring harness and we sell aftermarket ones for like 50.00. Just curious why you would want to put m8 gears in it? That's gear it down and mine already pulle like a freight train on bottom end. I am actually lookin at re-gearing my sled but i'll be gearing it up. Stock the M1000 has 60/60 gears in it. It makes alot of torque and power and could easily pull a slightly taller gear ratio. I put a different primary spring in mine and it now engages at 3000 rpm and pulls hard right off idle all the way thru and i've even put a camoplast extreme 162 x 2.5" lug track on it.

I've had no luck at all with bikeman products. The worst fit i've ever seen. SLP on a m1000 is the only way to go. You need a boondocker or attitude box for sure!!!! I've installed lots of SLP's on m1000's, with clutching and they ripp.

hey Glen, im telling you man by dropping your gears to what the m8 has it will wake that sled up way more in deep powder you gain track speed in deep heavy snow but lose top speed on the trail, i have full slp on mine with boondocker and bdx air box and that worked pretty good, if i had my time back i would have just put the 57 63s in there, noticed way more out of the gears then i did out of the pipes and everything, look at the 2010 m8's they gained horse power but dropped down to 55/65's
