Our last house had a cistrin and holding tank. It sucked. For water either spending a few hours getting the water yourself and filling the tank. Or pay a water company to fill it. That was once a month.
With the septic tank it had to be sucked out once a month. Always seemed like on the long weekend too.
I did eventually install level indicators.

Now on a well and a septic field. Much happier.
Suck the tanks once every 2 years for septic. Need to puck the well weekly but that's cheap and easy.

For me personally the less I need someone filling/tempting my tanks. The better.

what area are you looking at building ?
septic system would depend on the ground conditions it could cost 10-25k depending if you would need a leach field or sand mound system
unless you have enough land to do a pump out system

All of those questions depend on where you are located and as mentioned above ground conditions, nearest service etc. Local zoning laws and such will have an influence on your options as well.

we've thought about yanking our mobile out of the trailer park and putting it onto land as well, I'm going to follow this thread and see if it would be worth my while or not.

50 g would be a good budget number but it can very on conditions /distance/ has co ops ect.

25 g septic field.

15 g water. Cistern or well.

5 g power

5 g gas.

I would personally pay to have good water hauled in vs a shatty well. Talk to the neighbours and find out how deep they are? Ask for a drink and try it? But with a cistern get a large tank so it doesn’t have to be empty to take a whole 3500 gallon truck load.

If all services are at your property line and your not in the middle of a quarter section, I would budget 70k.

My 2010 costs for 4 bedroom located 125 ft from property line in Strathcona County.

Septic $39,000 Treatment plant with surface pump out. 49K with mound and field.
3200gal cistern installed including pump, piping and pressure tank. $15,000
Power (1 pole, transformer and wire) $10,000
Natural gas $5,000
Telus 6k (didn't connect)

Would the cost of the move be worth it vs selling it where it is and just buying another mobile for the new site?

Ouch! Yours where defiantly up there! I’ve done a few defiantly not cheap!

Another cost that you may want to consider is the cost of building a good driveway. Also expensive, and if you don’t do it well it will haunt you every spring!

Its about $7000 to move it.

We've had our place on the market for 2 years with no bites. Thus the thoughts of moving it

Budget $50-75k depending on your water/septic options mostly...
Water Well $15k, Water Pump/Tank/Filters tie in $3k-13k, Septic Field or Mound $15-$40k, Driveway $3-10k, Electrical $2-10k, Gas $4-8k
Usually cheaper, easier, stress free to buy place setup unless land is free... Also I just went through this so have a very good idea, highly dependent on where you’re building, land type and how much you’re doing yourself. Ask the neighbours how their water is, type of septic is, roads etc...

Also we ended up just about $72k all in near Calgary (budgeted $62-65k) but because we needed a mound ($8k more) and I paid extra for a good well built driveway (a few grand more)...

I've installed both, simple enough and 10-25k is reasonable.
