Even if there isn't enough snow; the Grizz will be open and Glenn's Corona powered shop makes an awesome place to talk about how awesome the 2011-2012 sledding season is going to be.

New to mountain sledding, only been there (McBride area) twice, once in each of the last 2 years.

We went in March both times and just curious as to the Conditions of getting out in Late Novemeber on through the whole season.

What is different about it? Is the snow setup enough, access difficult to all areas,..etc? Please someone enlighten me with your experiences and knowledge of this time of year vs. March.

Usually the hardcore sledders tentatively plan there first trip around mid november(depending on snow levels). Usually a person can start riding decently by end nov beginning of dec. Some years are better than others all depending on snow pack. Sometimes a person just has to remeber it's early season riding and there could still be some rocks to watch out for. Two years ago my best ride of the year was dec5 it was chest deep powder that had fallen in the 24hrs prior. The difficulty getting into some of the "back" area's can sometimes be tougher earlier in the year just because lots of the time you have a better chance of having deep powder to play in( i know a bad problem to have LOL) and can sometimes make it tougher to get up some of the big hills, not so much with the sleds of today tho. For the most part it is really good riding here year round. So all in all the biggest differnce from march to earlier in the season is sometimes you can hit it when there is some wicked DEEP powder.. You can always call the shop to get a snow report to find out what the current conditions are like.

Looking forward to the first trip. Heading to the Mayan mid December though so it will likely be after X-mas this season unless late November/Early December brings us some kick ass early snow.:D

Well guys and gals it's been snowin up top the couple days. As soon as the clouds lift enough to get a pic i will post a couple up. The clouds lifted enough yesterday to get a glimpse but not good enough to get a pic or two, and what i saw was snow all the way down into the burn on belle and lucielle was WHITE. So there will be snow on the bround at all the cabins now. So it's lookin like a half decent start to gettin us up and ridin again... Keep up the snow dances....
