I went to the Fernie scotia bank and asked for 5 grand. The teller said she didn't have that kind of money for another 2 days. But said she can do 2 grand and she up my instant teller amount so I was able to take the rest out using that machine. was kinda hoping she was going to ask me when i needed the 5 grand but she didn't

Makes me wonder how much physical money is printed and how much is just made up floatinf around the system. I mean shouldnt all banks have min 50gs on hand? I remember even back 5-7 years ago i could walk in get 10gs 0 problems 0 questions asked but arounf 3-4 year ago evern gettin 5000 has been a issue

they are only required to have 85-90% of bank money in the organization, the rest once deposited is reinvested fairly quickly, mortgages, loans etc.
that 10-15 % is in readily liquid assets, or cash. in my opinion large money transactions in cash would be hard to get and likely be dangerous to hold!

Well, the wife and I decided yesterday to take the savings we had for a new RV and just pay off the mortgage….could not do chit on-line. Jumped in truck and went to local branch and got er done. Was kind of a PITA.
