Who sells those cable scratchers that mount on the skis??
Who has used them?Are they any good ...or what??

They are really good. I wouldnt use them alone but they compliment the suspension scratchers very nicely.
I believe you can get them from Martin in Edmonton or maybe Parkland in Stony Plain

Do many people actually use them? I just rip along the side of the main trail for a bit, where it's not groomed if it starts to get a bit warm.

Yes, people use them. Sliders like them.

Yes, I used them when I was sledding.

I use the spring type i mount them on the front skies they were great till i forgot about them and backup next time its the cable type instead

Most likely the wrong venue but.....ski's are on the front of a sled......skies are above you and meteorologists predict. Tell everyone on kijiji please.

i find scratchers on the ski will kick more snow into the front of the suspension, thus more cooling and lubrication. hear good and bad on cable scratchers, i have the spring type mounted as far forward on the tunnel as i can get them. but i also use a 2 inch bolt in the back of the inside of the ski. this works the best of all, on and off at the trailer, costs maybe $ 2.50 easily replaced, and will throw more snow into the skid frame than any other i've seen. and work the best in icy conditions.

I personally do my best shopping loaded....other than I pay to much for stuff I don't need that is.....

I run them on all sleds. Just not in spring due to some possibilities of gravel trails into the ridin areas. Combine both sets of scratchers with hyper faxes and your golden IMO.

Jan, at Trax2Treadz has the cable ones. They are awesome and priced right. 403-866-8729.

I find on the moguls the spring type seem to break as one flies over the moguls, then they release and point down and when the sled hits the next mogul they snap!

Just my experience in the last couple of years............never before did that happen!

Well, now you don't have to worry about backing up anymore if you want to use "spring style". My new patent pending "REVERSIBLE" design has twice the spray as my traditional spring style scratchers. I ran them all last winter and they work awesome!
